I like www.bigbrainz.com for multiplication and www.funbrain.com for basic math games. However they may be beneath a 12 year old level. My nine yoar old loves them. Try the free download on bigbrainz first and if he likes it the full download is really worth it.

www.rainforestmaths.com is a great site. I use it in the classroom to give students some extra practice. I'm not sure what age you are looking for, but this is a good starting place.

It's very reasonable but more important is its method of teaching. Many use it for tutoring in addition to school but we use the curriculum for our full time schooling. I have been homeschooloing for a few years. My son is 15 and has math challenges. The best site recommended to by others with children with challenges in math say to use: www.mathusee.com They will have a representivite in your area come to your house, help access your child and then you can use the program free for 30 days. Nothing to loose. The programs go all the way from pre-school to college level material. I know several people using them and they love it. Good luck in whatever you choose. please let us know what works.

www.Rainforestmaths.com is really great. It divides up the math games by grade levels (up to 6th grade), and they are all in a fun and educational rainforest theme.

Another good one is www.aaamath.com (triple A math). It has a bunch of math lessons with interactive practice all the way up to grade 8.

www.funbrain.com has some fun math games.

I can't recommend a website but i want to give a" Atta Girl". My son is now 24 and I homeschooled him from the 3rd grade till he graduated at 18. We had his graduation in cap and gown with all our family and friends in the back yard and it was absolutely a God day. It could not have been more perfect. When he started the 9th grade I got the alpa omega computer curriculum and wow what a wonderful thing. They are out of Florida, but the program grades like 90% of the work. My son has enjoyed Time4Learning by Compass Learning. The subscription isn't cheap but it isn't limited to math. The interface is engaging and you can choose which grade level you want your son(s) to learn and can switch accordingly as they progress. Check it out!

www.purplemath.com is a very good site I used studying for the 4-8 math certification test. there are also a series of books that really take the math step by step - by Lynette Long - painless geometry, painless algebra and so forth. you can find those at BN for about $8 each which is super reasonable.

Hi K.! My name is B.. I am a stay at home mom and I have an 8 yr. old boy. My good friend and I are thinking about homeschooling. It so hard to pull your kids when they are straight A students and having no problems. We went to a home school meeting Tuesday night. Still unsure of myself. Can I do a good job? I see pros and cons . What homeschool program do you use? I looked into distant learning and the k-12, Summit Christian Academy etc... I love distant learning at Texas Tech but we trying to avoid that TAKS test. My son will be in 3rd next year. We are transfering to a different school next year but I am not real excited about it. I am not happy with the one we are at either. We are in Cedar Park. Do you have any advice on homeschooling? B.

Although I dont homeschool, I belong to a yahoo group called christianpreschoolprintables. Everything offered is not Christian, but a lot of it is for homeschooling. I get emailed so many websites daily. If you go to yahoo.com and click "groups" and search for it you can join and see everything they have. I hope this helps.

This sounds simple, but I use math.com.

Try Math.com I have used it before when I was teaching Math to brush up on things. They have step by step instructions as well as mini quizes and games.

I don't know of a math site. But, I wanted to say "Good Job" on the home schooling. My little sis (14) is home schooled in Spring Branch, TX..... it is the most scraficial thing you can do and your boys will reap the benefits for all the days of thier lives.

We really like Beestar math competitions to help kids with learning math skills. Since we can take the tests at home the kids really like competing and winning the awards. We also get to see their results and help them focus on the skills that they are struggling. What's awesome is the kids go on to doing well with the state tests and its been amazing.
