Old Question About Masturbation by a Child

Testing your memories, long term Mamapedia members. Does anyone remember an old question by someone saying her kid was masturbating, and then getting into details like the child was using the "bags that newspapers came in" and saying "Mommy, mommy, stop tickling me?" It was such an odd question and that's why it was somewhere win my memory banks. I'm sure this was a troll getting her (his?) jollies by imagining a child doing this. Do any of you remember reporting this? I tried searching and couldn't find anything, but if the question was pulled by the moderator and/or the account cancelled, it wouldn't show up in a search.

I ask because this matter came in a private message to me based on an answer I gave to another question recently - we've had a few about masturbation. So I think it's the same person. I can report it to the moderator but I wanted to ask you for input and any recollections first. I'm not sure if we have the same moderators over the years and I have no idea how long ago that other question wa posted. Just trying to do a little homework first.

This is not to say that some of the recent questions have not been legitimate - I think most are. But every now and then we get a weirdo.

Thanks for your brain power!

So What Happened?

I'm glad so many of you remember. Yes, I think you're right that the old one was about using a couch, and this one involved the edge of the bed. It came to me via a series of PMs starting with "There's more but I was afraid to post" and "I hope I can trust you." So, suspicious, I purposely asked questions like, "Have you read the responses to the earlier question?" and ""Did you talk to the pediatrician and the child's father, if involved, to get on the same page about language" and so on. Then I got "What if he's imagining something else?" Then I got this: "There was more to this that has me worried and confused. During this whole thing, he was holding my newspapers, like newspapers that come delivered in those bags. And while doing this, he was actualy moaning out "mommy mommy please stop tickling me, please stop mommy" I am so confused, was he holding my newspapers, thinking about me "tickling" him. Please help or give some adive. LIke i said i hope i can trust you on this." This seemed almost verbatim from the last time which I think was much longer ago than a few months. So I'm not entirely sure it's a teen - you'd think the person would have aged out of this juvenile stuff a while ago. I think this is an adult, because when I put on my drippingly-sweet, oh-so-helpful face about having heard the newspaper thing before, and did she want me to contact the moderator to find that old question (since I couldn't as it had been pulled) which was identical to her issues, she magically said oh no, she could search herself. Yeah, right.

I DO think there are some legitimate questions on Mamapedia about masturbation, and I try not to call "troll" at every one (or other odd first-time questions) because I do think we wind up being rude to legitimate new members. However, I agree that one or 2 legitimate questions can prompt the sickos and the pranksters to start in with their own bogus questions.

So I'm going to copy & paste all of the responses into one document and send them to the moderator. This is when I really hate Mamapedia's technology - you can't see the whole thread, you have to go into each one individually. You can't see the PMs in the in box because they are interspersed with all the "flowers". There's no way to eliminate just the "flowers" after you check them - that would be a great way to isolate just the messages, which would be things you might want to look at again. I appreciate the flowers, don't get me wrong - but I don't need to save them over time. And I don't need 16,000 things in my in box over the years. Grrrr...

I believe I remember that as well. Wasn't he humping the couch? I remember the kid saying "mommy".

I don't understand MMP lately. I had a response pulled the other day because of all the links in the profile which clearly sent a message that the poster was gathering info for a book or blog. Whatever.. even if it was a for real question, who in their right mind puts that much private info in a profile? I saw on a SWH that info was added that because MMP prompted her to do so..... Geesh... Pretty scary that someone has the mentality the they would do what someone said "because it told me too".

Any loon could find out who the person is with 1 click and that is so dangerous on any public forum for anyone, especially someone with children. Anywho... no harm done.... I still have red flags on that particular poster.

I don't understand how MMP can delete responses (I was not the only one to have my response deleted others were all long time members) so quickly and allow trolls ad spammers to remain on the site for days.

Sometimes I think they have a kid at the controls monitoring who and what they will pull. It is so super easy for the spammers and trolls to get on this site.

I would be willing to pay a nominal fee to remove ads and MMP have more control on the site.

The one yesterday was the second masturbation troll from Mount Joy. I can't remember if that was the newspaper bag leg hump post or not but yes there was one like you recall.

These trolls are teens, they think it is funny, like is your refrigerator running. I remember prank calls as teens, thinking it was so funny that they took our call seriously, never really getting they didn't know we were stupid teens until we started giggling like stupid teens. It is the same thing except you don't hear them giggle.

Yeah, seems that I do remember that post. It brought up red flags for me too, but I'm not sure I reported it. If I'm not absolutely sure it's a troll, I don't report...I don't always follow my gut when I know I probably should.

I do wonder, though, if we get one legit question about masturbation, and that then gets others going..good or bad. I always try to take the first question or two seriously, unless they are blatantly trolls.

Good luck in reporting your message. Can I do anything to help you?

I say go ahead and report the message you received to the moderators. What's the worts that can happen? They will do nothing, but it might make you feel better.

I remember that question as well, but I'm with Margie below, it was a few months ago. I may have reported it, but rarely do report unless it is really over the top.

I would think that there is some sort of record they keep of pulled posts - years ago, when there was regular moderation, one would get a notice that a post had been pulled, along with a reason. If you disagreed and 'made a good case', it was 're instated'.

Who knows now...they could just disappear into a black hole. Worth asking though.

We do seem to get our fair share of unusual posts! We haven't had a post from the person that doesn't like battery operated toys in a while (hexelin or something?) Maybe it has to do with the phases of the moon!

Best!

You're memory is right, D.. This was a troll, and one of MANY troll questions that were put on this site all at once over a few days' time. MP removed every one of them. I wish I could say that MP blocked the troll accounts, but I don't know that they did. Either it was one troll that opened several accounts, or a group of teen friends who were getting their jollies together writing here.

If MP just removed threads, you wouldn't be able to tell if it's the same people or not, because it would just say they haven't asked any questions yet. If MP also blocked them, they can't ask any more questions.

I do remember that question. Pretty sure I reported it. There's another someone that will come on for a while and post asking if you have your child wear underpants under their tights, socks with leggings or leggings with anything under them and something like ballet flats with leggings and with or without socks or sneakers. That one gives me the creeps as it's so specific. Now I wonder if they've been here at the same time.
There have been a stupid amount of masturbation questions recently. That always throws up my red flags. I've been choosing to ignore them at this stage. Probably should report them at this point as it really is odd to have almost a post a day.

I think I remember that one, and I reported it. It was only a few months ago I believe (3-4 months ago?). If I remember correctly.

And I think it came with a bunch of weird posts around same time.

Some of these questions just sound familiar - not always the exact same question but the way they are written, as if it's someone writing a story.
