After a few cold beers you'll be able to dance :)
Wear some cute jeans, show a little cleavage and have fun!
Cowboy bars are a blast.
Hi All,
One of my girl friends is in town from out of state and a big group of us are meeting at a bar...and it's a Cowboy Bar...with a real fake bull that you can ride and everything! I am not a big bar person and have never been to a cowboy/western bar in my life!!.... and I am nervous! What should I wear?? Any pointers and tips would be great. One quick question: Is it true that even if you don't know how to dance that some men have the ability to just swoop you up and lead and make you look good?? Gosh, I hope that is true! My husband is coming with but he is NOT a dancer and I would love to dance but am not familiar with any 2 step/swing or whatever kind of dancing they do!?
'With a real fake bull that you can ride and everything'...that would be a mechanical bull, duh! It's too early and my brain wasn't quite working yet and I couldn't think of the word!
I had a fantastic time! My GF's husband was one of those men who can lead and make you look good...so much fun!!
Thanks Ladies!

Not too tight jeans that are comfortable and a top that you like and feel beautiful in. Wear some shoes that have a leather sole or something that is slightly slick and not made to grip, like rubber does.
This way you'll be more comfortable on the dance floor. If hubby wants to snuggle you and "dance" then you can dance all the slow dances. You just get close and move around slightly in a circle. You don't have to be able to dance any moves.
If you want to do some dancing you might want to do a waltz. It's basically walking in time to music that is on a 3 beat bar.
I can't think of any songs that are waltz but if you google it you'll get a long list.
Here's one site I found, the one with the longest list is down the page a bit.

Here's another:

In a waltz the partners do not break hand grips. So if you go on the floor and hold each other you simply walk, or move around, with your feet in time to the music.
So jealous. Wish I was going. Lots of fun. Wear jeans and a shirt. And yes some men can make a non dancer look good. You just have to follow. Have a blast.
Ehhh, just wear jeans, a cute top and shoes you can be in all night. Oh, and most places if you get there early they have lessons for free. I know a line dance teacher who works at our local honkey tonk and she says it's a pretty common practice. My dad is one of those dancers who can make you look good, and hot damn when he used to dance with my mom when they were married - they cleared the floor & taught lessons.
No matter what just have fun and do not be afraid to try.
We have one in Down town Seattle. We have been a few times(neither of us drink we were mainly going to be with friends).
It is probably the best people watching you could ask for in that setting.
Riding the bull is hilariously fun! Even better after a few drinks have loosened people up and they no longer have any inhibitions.
I would dress comfortably. These bars tend to have a few pool tables, darts as well as the bull and counter dancing girls.
When it comes to the group dances or whatever you can usually follow along just by watching and working out the steps while everyone is going at it. Just stand off to the side or back until you have the foot work!
Have fun!!
Wear jeans and low/no heels.
Pretty much anywhere you go, there are going to be guys who could make a head of lettuce look good on a dance floor as well as guys who dance like a frog in a blender.
Very jealous right now! Ugh.
I am a 'real-life cowgirl' and I suggest just jeans and cute top. If you have cowgirl boots and a cowgirl hate, obviously wear those but I'm doubting that you have 'em.
And the dancing depends on you... Yes, men can take the lead and make you look good but you have to know how to follow their lead. I, for example, am horrible at following someone else's lead and it ends up looking very awkward. Lol
Wow.... you are taking me back to myself about 22 years ago! Yes, if they can teach you the two step (and they haven't had too much to drink), a nice guy can come along and make you look very good.
Or, just sit back and enjoy the show! From what I remember, there was plenty to see! Have fun!
