Oil Stains on Concrete Driveway - How to Remove

Maybe this question is better suited for daddypedia.com, if there is such a thing, but I know that there are a few really savvy moms out there that can probably help answer this for me. Our concrete driveway has a few oil stains that needs to be cleaned. I've never had to do this before so I wonder if there's a particular type of cleanser/solvent that I should use. My preference would be to use a cleanser that is safe for the environment but, since I have an HOA to deal with, I'll use whatever works best.

Any suggestions?

There is a product they sell at Lowes that is special for cleaning and bleaching concrete. We found it in the Industrial area. My husband and I own an auto shop and he was doing it from home before we moved here. This stuff works awesome and wouldn't you know I can't think of the name of it. Ask the folks at Lowes. They should know what I am talking about

I got oil off of our wood banister suprisingly with a baking soda paste. Try mixing baking soda with a little bit of water and put it on the oil stain for a while and then rinse off. Not sure if it was a fluke, but it's worth a shot.

I second the kitty litter, it has worked for us more than once. You may have to do it more than once though.

Kitty litter! Sprinkle it on the stain & let it sit overnight. It will soak up the oil then you can just sweep it up & throw it away.
