Go buy an umbrella stroller on the way and deal with it. :/ sorry. :( you definitely won't be the first to have a toddler at the ob/gyn, many SAHM's have to see the doc that don't have any help!
I'm going for my annual gyno appointment today, and my babysitter just cancelled... am I going to survive this with my 15 month old?!
Do I bring the stroller? I only have a really big jogging stroller (no umbrella stroller), and I'm not even sure it would fit comfortably in the exam room with me, my doc, and the assistant.
____@____.com quick advice or suggestions ladies??
I called and they said it was fine, but I hope the BABY is fine, LOL! I've taken him before, but he was still in an infant car seat, no big deal... now, the little monster man is a bit harder to keep entertained and strapped down, LOL... wish me luck :)
OKAY my appt ran 45 minutes late, but the baby was GREAT and all the expecting moms had a ball with him! My doc was so excited to see the 3rd baby of mine that he delivered :) He was like 'no one brings me my babies anymore!!'... I was stressed, but it was worth it :)

I had to take my kid to the gyno once and while it was stressful and a pain in the butt, the front desk staff and the other nurses actually took him for me during the appointment and played with him. I was so apologetic and worried about it and they were like, don't worry about it - we never get to see the babies after they come out of the belly and we love playing with them. They had a good time, he had a good time, and all was well...even though I still felt badly!
Call ahead, but do what you can to keep the appointment! Honestly, those appointments are pretty quick and if you bring toys and snacks she won't really pay much attention to what's going on.
You'll survive and so will she. It happens and when it happened to me, the nurse was more than happy to take my little guy (15 months at the time) into the other room during the actual "exam" where they played with toys and ate snacks.
THEY DELIVER BABIES... they get it. Have plenty of "stuff" with you to keep her entertained and go with it!
Call the doc office before you go. Some of them won't even let you keep the appt if you have young kids with you. I am sure they have had to deal with this before, just give them a call and ask what they would like for you to do.
In these situations, I turn to dum dums and a stroller LOL
(really though, I do)
I took my kids to all appointments while I was pregnant and I survived. It will be fine, but plan something for your child to do that they love doing.
Bring the stroller, don't worry about the fit in the exam room. I've had to do it a few times, and no one cares much. (If they were the type of office to care, I would be going elsewhere.)
I took my little guy to all my appointments. Dum dums, a hot wheel, a book, whatever you think you need. A simple $20 umbrella stroller is a good investment for things like that.
call them now and ask if it's ok to bring your little one or if you should reschedule - i'm SURE they'll tell you it's fine, and they will prob try to get you in/out faster since you had the courtesy to call.
do you have a neighbor that could lend you a smaller stroller? bring a snack along for the 30 second portion of the exam that you'll need to lie back.
I think you will survive, or survived. Wait till you have to bring all three kiddo's to an apt. Rules, talks before you go and expectations! That's my thoughts. I do just fine with all three of mine at apts ages 6, 3, 1yr
I used to take five children with me-everywhere-you'll manage.
Just tell them what happened. I had to take mine once. My doc had one of the nurses take him to his office for the few minutes the physical exam took, and play with him. He had some toys there just for that purpose. Then, he went and got him himself after the physical exam was done, and did under the arm fart contests with him. LOL
Unless you have a lot to talk about with the doctor, bring the baby and strap her in. Bring toys and something to keep her quiet ( yummy treat??). The dr will understand. OB/GYNs deal with that often.
