I went in for my yearly check up and I have had the "odor" every woman fears since. I have never had this before. I went to a new Doctor and I like her but I have never had this problem before. I have never used dueches and not sure if I want to but it is every day I smell myself and wonder can everyone else??? and yes I shower everyday and starting to worry. Am I being silly or is something really wrong??

What can I do next?

B., it is possible that you may have developed a yeast or vaginal infection as a result of the exam (i've heard of this happening before). You may want to consider seeing your doctor again. If you never have had "that" odor before, it would certainly warrant making a call at the least. Some women have odor issues because of their chemistry, you don't seem to be one of those. Good luck to you!

It sounds to me like a (harmless) bacterial infection. You don't mention if you have any sort of irritation or burning?

When I was younger I would get vaginal bacterial infections fairly easily. Really anything "new" down there can trigger them: new laundry detergent, new soap, a new brand of pad, or a new sexual partner. Perhaps something used during the exam (the gloves or lube or instruments) triggered this.

I would call the doctor and see what they say. They may just be able to phone over a prescription for cream.

You should be able to call and speak to a nurse at your doctor's office to get advice. They are usually very helpful and have probably heard every question imaginable.

sounds like an infection to me too. Just all your Dr. office and they will be able to help with this.

Morning B.,
It sounds like a yeast infection - nothing to worry about but I'd make an appt to go back in and see your gyno. Or you could just go to KMart/WalMart and get some Vagisil Cream. I've had several yeast infections - they are bothersome but easy to clear up.

If you try a douche get one that is more "natural": something with vinegar should do well. Nothing that is fake floral scented or anything like that. I use one every month after my period just to get everything cleaned out and it's no big deal. If the douche doesn't work then I would go back and talk to your dr.
