hi moms my daughter (whos 19m today :)) has some odd looking stools. they are normal in color but have little tiny brown string like worms in it. this has been going on for like 2 weeks. i looked up pinworms but it doesnt match whats going on. she hasnt had a fever that im aware of and her sleep has been off at night she wakes up and thats not normal. have any moms seen this before? she gets a flu shot next week i think i may make that appt into a drs appt not just a nurses visit.

I agree with the other moms. I would put a call into the doctor's. I can't tell you how many times I've gone just for peace of mind.
Keep a stool sample, and take it and your girl into the Doctor.
It could be anything.. .best to take her to Doctor asap, since it's been occurring for 2 weeks...
Don't wait until next week.

I agree with Susan... best even if it's nothing to take her to the doctor, if mostly just to ease your own mind! I think my son had something similar going on at one point, but it didn't match any pictures that I could find of worms, either (which I think are usually white). I chalked it up to the fact that he had recently started eating spinach and I think he just doesn't chew well enough and some of his food comes out pretty whole... but if she's not eating the same thing every day that might be the culprit, then it's probably best to rule something else out. Also, make sure if you think she's sick at all to postpone the flu shot (or any shot for that matter) until she's better and immune system is back up. I let my son's old ped give him his shots when he was getting over a cold even though I felt uncomfortable about it and that's when he ended up going backwards and getting sicker and sicker and ended up needing to go on antibiotics. The next time he was even slightly showing signs of being sick and he was due for shots, I was firm with the doctor and said I wanted to wait. She was annoyed because he barely seemed sick at all, but two days later he had a full-on cold. I waited two weeks for the cold to fully pass and then he got his shots and was fine (I have since changed doctors and couldn't be happier that I did).
