Hey all - we just found out that we are expecting our 2nd child - bad thing is my husbands insurance does not offer coverage for pregnancy. :o( In FL if your pregnant and go in for medicaid they automatically give it to you - no qualifying needed they just want to make sure you go to the dr - well here you have to qualify so we are SOOO hoping that we can qualify. If we do the OB that I love and who delivered my first does not take medicaid. :o( So now I will need to find a new FEMALE obgyn or possibly midwife that does. I am in the South Fort Worth area. My 1st was delivered in Harris SW and I REALLY liked it there. Any refereces would be greatly appreciated. Thank moms!

Congrats A. on the baby news!! My ob/gyn is located in the hulen area. Her name is Lisa Gardner and she is the best I have ever been to. She's not only a great doctor, she is genuinely a sweet person. She remember's my name and my history with her every time and makes me feel like a friend rather than a number. The office # is ###-###-####. Good luck!

I agree, call Nancy Jo Reedy (they are all THE BEST!!). I use that group(Texas Health Care Midwives) and they have two offices in the same complex and one caters to Medicaid patients. I don't know if they deliver at SW, I deliver at Harris Downtown. However, she/the group may have a great suggestion for a midwife that does ____@____.com luck.

Try the group of obgyns at Harris Southwest in the plaza in suite 245. I have always seen Dr. Ray Ryan and he saw me through both of my pregnancies and I loved him. Dr. Howell, Suba, Carrinton and a couple others are also in that office. I worked upstairs from them for 7 years and only heard good things about them from the docs I worked with. One of them is bound to be open to Medicaid.

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if they take medicaid, but my daughter was delivered by Dr. Deem at Women's Health Medical Group. They are located in the medical building attached to Harris SW. I had my daughter there also and LOVED it. You may want to just give them a call and ask about the medicaid thing. That whole group is awesome! Good luck.

I highly recommend Nancy Jo Reedy. She was referred to me by the midwife who delivered my daughter in CA and she was wonderful. I only saw her once because she is too far for me (I'm in North Fort Worth) but she removed my IUD for me and she was so sweet and her staff was wonderful. The address is 1050 South 5th Ave, Fort Worth....###-###-####. Good luck to you.
