I also go to the Broomal OB/GYNGroup, Dr. Laveran, Heinzel, and Rudo. All three are wonderful. Their number is ###-###-####. Love them!

I am a third-time pregnant mom (12 weeks in on this pregnancy) who is in the process of transferring from the Birth Center to an OB practice because of a risk of preterm labor (my last son was born preterm after months of preterm labor problems). I had set up an appointment with Dr. Craparo, based on a recommendation from a friend who was delivered by her (but didn't see her during pregnancy) but then saw some negative comments online about her bedside manner during prenatal visits. I've also looked into a number of other docs at Lankenau and Bryn Mawr (using online reviews) but everyone seems to get mixed reviews! Anyone who others would solidly recommend? For those who have seen Dr. Craparo, would you recommend her? I am looking for someone who is good with communication (will listen to issues and explain his or her recommendations), who won't keep me waiting for a really long time at each visit. I'd also prefer a practice that has some evening availability for appointments since I work, but that is not my biggest concern.
I wound up going with McConnell Peden Belden and Finnegan. They were good prepartum, although I would note for working moms that their hours are terrible and don't count on being able to get the doc you like best unless you are able to leave in the middle of your work day. Mostly though I would note that YOU SHOULD NOT DELIVER AT LANKENAU IF YOU WANT A NATURAL CHILDBIRTH. In my experience Bryn Mawr Hospital is much better at dealing with natural deliveries, perhaps because of their association with the Birth Center. (I did wind up going natural this time, but only because it was my third pregnancy and knew what to do on my own).
I also go to the Broomal OB/GYNGroup, Dr. Laveran, Heinzel, and Rudo. All three are wonderful. Their number is ###-###-####. Love them!

Dr Maggie Peden - her group is at Lank. She is so thoughtful and really listens.
Dr. Lavaran & Dr. Rudo work for Main Line Health and their office is out of Lawrence Park in Broomall. Dr. Lavaran literally saved my and my son's life. I then was high risk with my second son and they took good care of me. Everyone in the office is great and they deliver at Lankenau. I was also sent to a Perinatologist and she was nice, but I forget her name.
I also have to recommend Dr. Peden's group! I posed a similar question here when we had just moved and I was pregnant with my third. I was recommended to her office and liked ALL of the docs. The funny thing is that I never met Dr. Peden b/c her office hours conflicted with preschool for my other children, but I've heard that she is very kind! Dr. McConnell is who I saw the most & who delivered my son. She is nice and answered all of my questions, but she definitely doesn't waste time with extra fluff in the exam rooms - I like that! Best of luck.
If you see Dr. Craparo, you will see all the docs in the practice and who delivers you will depend on who is on call when you go into labor. They delivered my first, and I am now seeing them again. I love Dr. Ischiropoulos, she is my definite favorite in the group! Waiting times vary, usually it is quick but on occasion there have been long waits. If you go to the Newtown Square office rather than Rosemeont, the visits are definitely quicker. They have evening appts

he is amazing. Even my husband who was concerned about a male OB loved him. Amazing bed side manner. I followed him from Pennsylvania Hospital in the city to Lankaneau. I can not recommend him enough!
I used Dr. Castelli at bryn mawr. He was referred to me in 1996 from my SIL's. I have also sent my best friend and sister there. They loved him. He is a tell you like it is kind of person but still very nice. I have never tore or needed stitches... all of my labors with him/his practice went very well. He does do high risk. Also if she is still there, the nurse practicioner Laura is wonderful!
The only thing i am unsure about is if there are night hours. That is so hard to find :(
I saw that someone reccomended McConnell....if she is who i am thinking of, she is the reason i switched. I had her in 1995, was not a kind woman, late for my delivery... treated me pretty bad for being young....maybe she has changed but i did not have a good experience with her. (had my last three with castelli's group)
I second Lawrence Park Ob/gyn with Drs laveran, rudo, and heinzel. I delivered two children with them (my second was born 8 weeks ago). they did a FANTASTIC job both times...I developed pre-eclampsia both times and they took very good care of me.
