I am new to Salt Lake City and need help finding a good OB/GYN. I'm not looking to have any children in the near future, I just want to find a nice facility for my yearly check-ups etc... preferably in the Downtown area.

What can I do next?

Another vote for the Avenues Women's Center. I used to see Dr Robinson before we moved to the south end of the valley.

After the birth of my first daughter I SWORE I would never ever ever see another OB. After my second birth had many complications, that was no longer possible!
I have a wonderful OB, who may or may not be taking patients. His name is Howard Sharp and he practices at the University of Utah. I was never comfortable with a male OB, but he's great. He's very thorough and appreciates my less then conventional attitude when it comes to treatment options, or traditional medical protocals.
If you want another option, the women's center at the Madsen Health Clinic is a great place. Dr Sharp rotates down to that office(off Foothill and Mario Capecchi Dr), but there are also plenty of great midwives, who I saw my whole pregnancy. They do general OB/GYN stuff in a much more personal approach. Hope this helps!

The IHC salt lake clinic is great so far, I haven't had the baby with Dr. Holmes yet, but I like her a lot.

I loved the nurse practitioners at Avenue Women's Center. It's on like South Temple and 400 E I think.

Not precisely downtown - it's at 3900 S and 1100 E (which is not a huge distance) - OB/GYN associates. I especially love Dr Yamashiro there. I've been with him for 12 years now, through all my kids and my other issues (cysts, birth control options, etc) and he's been great. Their # is ###-###-#### (if I recall)

Dr. Peterson located at the Foothill Family clinic. He is my wife's OB and has been with us through 2 kids and all the female issues that ensue. Not that I can truly comment on this issue, but my wife always let's me know that he is the best OB she has ever had...AND all the deliveries were very, very good. So, take my comment for what it's worth and good luck in your search.
