Does anyone have any good suggestions for an ob/gyn doctor? I am in the process of trying to find a good one but hate the searching and letdown process.
So being that my husband and I are having a surprise baby without maternity insurance, we decided to just go through the health dept and have been very satisfied so far.

I reccommend Dr. Janetta Proverbs. I have been going to her now for almost 14 years. She has been my doctor for all three of my pregnacies, and I absolutely love her. She is very easy to talk to, and she takes her time with her patients. I have never felt rushed at any of my appointments. She is at Blue Valley Woman's Care at 75th and I-35. Her number is ###-###-####, and she accepts most major insurance companies. I really hope you will look into her office! It is fabulous!!!!
Dr. Maureen King at Women's Care ###-###-#### You can see her at two different offices, which ever would work better for you.

I see Dr. Melanie Martin at Johnson County OB/GYN. I have referred 2 other friends there and both have loved her as well and delivered their children.
Dr. Rebecca Johnson @ ###-###-####. I have gone to her for 20+ years. She is very experienced and compassionate. I actually look forward to my annual GYN exam because I know I'll get to see her and have time to talk to her. She is never in a hurry, even though I am sure she has a full patient load.
I highly recommend Dr. Capelli and Dr. Caruso. It is a two man practice called Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultants. In my case Capelli was my primary doctor, but both of them were in the OR for my C-section. Love both men and can not say enough nice things about the way they treated me. At St. Joseph hospital Capelli is legendary for being able to guess a babies weight with in about an ounce prior to delivery. The nurses all had nothing but great things to say about both doctors on the maternity ward.

I love Dr. Nauser, http://www.hodesnauser.com. She doesn't beat around the bush and has your best interests at heart. She knew I didn't want a C-section and did all she could to avoid it but when we ran out of options and I had to have one, she was very supportive. And she is a bit of a renegade - the nurses all like her because she's more interested in the comfort of the patient than in following old school rules. She's had a C-section herself and knows first hand what annoying things are supposed to be done but aren't medically necessary. For example, she didn't shave me for the surgery and I was allowed to eat right after (most doctors make you wait 3 hours or something).
I love, love, love Dr.Arroyo at Kansas City Women's Clinic. He is the best!! Very professional, yet laid back and sweet demeanor. He delivers at Overland Park Regional and Saint Lukes South. My husbands dad was an OBGYN in this practice for 35 years and very highly recommends Dr.Arroyo!
I see Dr. Saroj Bavishi in the Doctor's Building by Olathe Medical Center and have been very happy with her. She's not "chatty," but has always been nice and professional.
