OB GYN At Kansas City Womens Clinic

I recently went for my yearly to Kansas City Womens Clinic at Saint Luke's South and saw Dr. Belieu. I learned that she doesn't deliver anymore (not enough time for her family) and we are wanting to try for baby number two in September. She gave me a brochure with other doctors that still do obstetrics but I haven't heard anything about them or the practice. I'd prefer a woman if possible but am not completely opposed to a man. Any help would be great! I had a pretty complicated pregnancy (extreme weight lose, placenta previa, pre-term labor, etc.) last time and really liked the care I got from my last doctor, however, we are in OP now and she's in Blue Springs. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Hi, B.! I use Dr. Angela Piquard of Women's Clinic. They have two offices (St. Luke's South and Georgetown Medical Center). I cannot say enough about Dr. Piquard. She is so friendly, and was recommended to me when I moved here from Blue Springs (by two people). I saw a couple of different doctors in the practice and they were all great.

Hope this helps!

I would highly recommend Dr Douglas Perryman. His office is located on the Plaza and I delivered at that St Luke's although I am sure he goes elsewhere too. A friend of mine with history of high risk pregnancies recommended him to me. She was also a pediatric transport nurse for Children's and so was around many OBGYN's - he is a fave of the girls on that team.

I currently use Dr. Rhonda Wright at Kansas City Women's Clinic. My first pregnancy was also complicated and she was wonderful through the whole process. I'm now pregnant with my second and she is just as great. Dr. Bishop delivered my first via cesarean and he seemed fantastic also. All in all, I think the doctors there are very good. Good luck!

I see Dr. Lombard off of 119th street. She is wonderful!!! I had my daughter with a doc in Missouri as well but now live in Kansas. I have seen Dr. Lombard a couple times now and she is great. She spends plenty of time with me in the office if I have any questions. My husband and I are going to start trying for baby number 2 in September as well and she is really helping me through the steps I need to take to get ready for the pregnancy. Let me know if you want her number or anything else. They have all women in their office.

B.,

I highly recommend Dr. Cappeli and Dr. Carruso of Obstertric and Gynecological Consultants. They are both men, but they are EXTREMLY good. Dr. Carruso saved the life a a friend of mine when she had complications after the birth of her first child. Dr. Cappelli was recommended to me by my regular doctor, because my pregnancy was also considered high risk.

It is a two man practice, they have a sonogram machine in the office, which is great, and they specialize in difficult pregnancies. Their offices are in the Carondelet Medical Building at St. Josephs and they have a second small office in Lee's Summit.

Best Wishes,

J. N.

P.S. - Dr. Cappelli personally returns his patients phone calls with in 24 hours. I was floored when I realized he took the time to answer my questions and did not pawn it off on his nurses.

I've gone to Dr. Melanie Martin ever since I was pregnant 6 years ago. She's at 75th and I-35. (7440 W. Frontage Rd.) It's a large practice so there are other dr's there as well. Some there may work more with special pregnancies than others so you can certainly ask for recommendations.

Good Luck,
J.
