What has been your experiences with the NuvaRing? Any reactions/side effects, good bad or otherwise? I was on it since August. My adverse reactions increased- cramping, vaginal dryness, decreased labido, increased fatigue, daily headaches. Then came the sporadic nausea... It was so bad it woke me up in the middle of the night. No, I'm not pregnant. I finally broke down, called my doctor and requested my birth control be switched. Which he whole-heartdly agreed. I'm also curious how long after discontinuing usage will my symptoms persist? THANKS!!!

What can I do next?

I was on it for a time and didn't have any real problems with the NuvaRing specifically. I just don't like hormonal bc in general as it makes me sick and extremely crabby. After I went off the ring, it look a few months for my period to be regulated again but after that it was fine.

My husband and I switched to condoms and they've been working fine. The pill or other hormonal bc doesn't work for some.

I was on it for four months and could not stand it. I bled constantly while on that thing (i.e. I would have a 3 week long period:P), and it actually fell out at least once a month. It just made me too nervous, so I switched as well.

Wow, this was interesting to read. I was on it for a while and I loved it - can't remember any adverse side-effects. The only reason I got off of it is because my insurance no longer covered it. . . . hope you feel better soon!

If your still having these symptoms then it's the hormones in birth control that you are sensitive too, not just NuvaRing. The last couple of years I went through numerous BC because I was having about the same symptoms as you. Finally I just said no more, I'm going off of it and let my body go back to it's natural state. OH MY GOSH that was the best thing I ever did!!!! I told my husband if he wanted sex anymore than he would go get "the big V" because I was done with BC. Obviously if your not done having children that won't work, but I do recommend going off it and using condoms.

I'm telling you it will be the best thing you ever did.
