I have a question about NuvaRing. When i got it from my doctor she gave me a Trial NuvaRing pack they had at there office to see if I like it. It wasnt cold and she didnt tell me to keep it in the fridge. So I didnt even think to put it in the fridge. So after using the first one i went to pick up my prescription at the pharmacy and noticed they got it out of the fridge, but they did not tell me to keep it in the fridge. So do you keep it in the fridge or is it okay to leave it out??

What can I do next?

If they come in the mail they are in a Styrofoam box with a freezer pack in them. If the company feels that strongly about how they should be kept they should be kept cold.

I would talk to a pharmacist about it. I have always been under the impression they should be kept in the fridge.

When I was on it I didn't keep mine in the fridge. I was never told it needed to stay in the fridge and I never noticed otherwise. Of course, I became pregnant with my second while taking it. I don't think it had anything to do with the temperature it was stored at. I just inserted in 1 day behind schedule.

I think for long term storage they are supposed to be refrigerated, but I never did with mine. I used the Nuva Ring for 2 and 4 year periods, and never got pregnant while on it. (However, the VERY FIRST DAY I didn't put one in when I should, I conceived.)

Funny you should post this today, I went and picked up mine today and asked this very questions to the pharmacist. He said for long term storage yes keep refrigerated or if it is really hot in your house in the summer that you can't keep a steady temp below a temp(I don't remember what he said).
So since I just get it every month he said don't worry about it.
Hope this helped!

Nuvaring is stored in the refrigerator at the pharmacy, but can be at room temperature for up to 4 months. So once you pick it up at the pharmacy, as long as you use it within 4 months, it does not need to go in the fridge. I think that info is on the foil packaging that the ring comes in.
