Nuva Ring?

Has anyone ever used the birth control Nuva Ring? I just started it and I wondered if anyone ever had some mild cramping with it. It isn't painful usually, just uncomfortable. I was having a little bit before I started using it, so maybe it isn't even related. Also, did it always stay in place where it should? So far it has been ok, but sometimes it feels like it has slipped out of place a bit. It is easy to fix, but does that just happen?

What can I do next?

I use Nuvaring and yes, the cramping is normal. It does seem to get less with more time using it. Also, I had about 4 months with breakthrough bleeding and even had to go on Estradiol for a couple months to stop it. Be sure to call your doctor if that happens. The Estradiol clears it right up. I haven't had breakthrough bleeding since then. Mine does seem to move around a bit, but never out. It will move higher up and sometimes be harder to remove.

Hope this helps.

Hello T.,
My name is A., I have used the Nuva Ring right after I gave birth to my 6 mo. old daughter. I used for about 5 mo. and it worked great..I did have some mild cramping the first month but then after that it was great! Although if it persist you might want to talk with your Ob b/c it isn't suppose to be uncomfortable as a matter of fact my Ob told me you are not suppose to feel it at all. I never had problems with my ring coming out of place, but once or twice the first month and that was it. You might want to read up on the precautions you are to take with it as with any other medication/birth control.... www.nuvaring.com. I think you can also down load a reminder onto your computer it lets you know when you are suppose to take it out and what time and when to put it back in as well.

I used it and I really liked it!I't did slip a bit but it was no biggie. I like not having to think about it! I didn't have any cramping. It was suggested to me by a friend who is a Registered Nurse Practioner. I only stopped using it because we are trying again! I will go back to it after baby # 3. IF ther is a baby # 3!!! : )

Yes, I used the Nuva ring for 3 years and it does tend to slip however there is no exact placement for the ring just so long as it's in there. As for the cramping, I never had any so I'm not to sure why that is happening.

I have been on nuva ring for one year. I love it. I never have cramping, except the normal along with the period when the ring is out.

I have never felt it "slip" I am sure it does move around a little.... but I don't feel it, and it doesn't try to come out... So no harm no foul

I had to stop taking it, I got the worst migraine of my life, completely out of comision for 3 days, so bad it took me that long to realize that it was the nuvaring and not just a migraine. (I unplugged the cable box in my room, the migraine made it sound like a helicopter!) My good friend also took it and she bled and cramped badly, all of a sudden it stopped, then she realized a week later while doing laundrey it had fallen out! I know it must work just fine for some, or else it wouldn't be on the market, but my personal expierence with is its terrible!

I've only been using it for 2 months. I haven't had any cramping but it did slip out of place a little the first month I used it. Actually it fell out about 1/2 a week before my period. The second month it stayed in place without any probelms. My OBGYN said a little slipping is normal.
