your milk will reduce during the day, but if you keep the same nursing schedule at home you should still produce plenty of milk at those times. good job!
Hi all!
My baby girl is 14 months and is on whole milk while I'm working. When I'm home she nurses day + night. I work 4 10 hr. days. I wanted to know if other moms out there stopped pumping while working, were you still able to nurse without problems the days you were home with your little one? I'm looking to space out my pumping more and eventually not have to lug the milk factory with me everyday! But I am not at all interested in trying to wean her totally anytime soon.
Thanks!

Hi E.,
As long as your little one is still nursing a couple times a day, you wont stop producing milk for her. Pumping during the day is unneccasary, unless you are uncomfortable; if she is not drinking it, you will just waste it.
If you nurse during the day when your not working, your body will adjust and make milk when stimulated, as needed for your daughter.
You dont have to start weaning her to cut down on production (while your work) thats not being used by her.
Good luck
I know some moms who have done this successfully, as long as your little girl keeps nursing when you are with her, I would think you should be fine. GOod luck!
Good for you!
I found that once I stopped pumping at work my milk supply diminished significantly. I also found that my son became much less interested in nursing b/c he was more active and the bottle was quicker.
If you stop nursing, make sure you talk with the pediatrician about a multivitamin!
