At what age do kids shift from their baby nose to a kid/ adult nose? For those of you who have a roman nose, or whose kids have roman noses, at what age did you notice the shift? Certain in my family have very generous schnozzes, can't put a finger on when or whether I noticed the shift. Surely though they weren't born that way.

Best,
F. B.

Shift started for my boy at about age 12. And still changing. But he clearly has my very straight nose. :-)

I honestly never even thought about it or noticed. Their noses just grew right along with the rest of their face!

Your nose grows for as long as you live.

B., my family is Polish, & we have the schnozes to prove it.

There is a "joke" (there's some truth in it too!) that when my sister was born, she came out a 1 lb baby, 7 lb nose.

But looking back @ our childhood pictures, we have noticed in our family (extended to cousins), people tend to develop their more adult features in middle school (6-8 grade). By high school, most people look like they will as adults, as far as the nose goes.

Cuz the nose knows. T. :)

I was just thinking about this the other day because I noticed my daughter's nose was changing from my husband's cute little one to my Roman one. Poor thing.

She's 12.

Kids grow in a predetermined way, we all did.

Kids eat and eat and eat and eat and grow a bit pudgy then shoot up overnight and don't eat for weeks. They do this pattern until they're about 8 or 9. Then they get huge hands then huge feet and their ears grow and their jaw bones and cheek bones grow on one side then they grow on the other side.

They look lop sided sometimes and this can stick....deviated septum anyone? That's because a growth spurt happened one last time on one side then it didn't grow on the other any more.

Usually by 12 kids are done growing their extremities and they start working on their main body height and body style.

I think it's during the teen years. One of my kids' noses became very Roman I think sometime around 16.

I think around 10-13 is the big shift. I noticed that with a niece at least and also pictures of a friend when she was a kid.
