I'm sorry but I don't live in that area, but I just had to say good for you, N.! Keep up the good work.
I'm 4 foot eleven and 3/4. I know how you feel. Don't wear high heels a lot it threw my back out. We must pride ourselves on our great shortness! Is there an Aldi's near your house? WE shop there too. Great savings. Bring a quarter and a bag. I have a paralegal certificate but without six years experience I didn't seem to find a job yet so I substitute. We just did Mr. Gallon last week. I went home in tears. Twice. If you know what Mr. Gallon is it is a little man with a square piece of construction paper for the gallon in the middle, four quarts for arms and legs and pints and cups for fingers and hands and legs and feet. I got another job after that which will place me behind a desk on a part time basis. Enjoy your children. I don't do diapers anymore, but will look at your site anyway!
Thank You N.. I've been wondering how to change some of these things on the North side. I lived here when I was a kid and was disappointed to see all the empty storefronts and the decline in schools performance. We just started to think about buying a house and want to stay in the city, so this we'll be a great way to get us more involved. See ya on Earth Day!
Hi N.
Just joined your group. I live in Portage Park & hope to meet you at the Earth Day event.
Hi N.. I just read your post and can I sure relate. My husband has been writing letters to the city and local alderman to try and get a stop sign on Lawrence by Jefferson Park. You really do take your life in your own hands when crossing many of our streets...even when you are in a crosswalk! There is no such thing as pedestrians have the right of way. I lived in California for several years and some things they do right is protecting pedestrians and recycling. It would be nice to have some changes in our neighborhoods! Thanks for taking the initiative...
