B..
I didn't start until 15, and all my sisters started much earlier. It's normal, and I wouldn't worry about it. I would worry about the friends she keeps, though. Have you talked to her about sex and prevention?
My Daughter is 13 and will be 14 in 4 months and she have not had her 1st period yet. Please don't get me wrong I'm not rushing it nor am I rushing her to grow-up. I started my cycle early, around the young age of 12. I know that every female body is different. All her young friends 12-13 year old has already started their mentural and some have even conceived a child...I know sad but, true. I was just wondering, is this normal or ab-normal that, my 13 year old Daughter has not stared her menstral. Is this something which I should be concerned about? Should I consider taking her to the doctor or should I just chill & relax and, let natual take it's coarse.

Yep, normal. If she were having cramps without a period, or spotting but no real period etc. -- then I'd head for the doctor. But considering the situation you describe with friends who have already had babies at 12 or 13 - I would be thrilled that she was not yet having periods. And I would use this time to ensure that she is WELL prepared to avoid having a baby herself!
As someone else posted, time for her to take a hard look at her friends who have gotten pregnant and to learn from that. I hope she can see that having a baby at their age is not good for the parents, who are children themselves, or for the baby. Sad.
It's normal. Chill.
And encourage her to keep better company.
Normal. My daughter got her period around 14 and I got mine just after I turned 11.
As for the friends, I would suggest to her to find a new group to keep her from getting pregnant. Babies are nice at the right time and place in life not when you are still in high school.
Get her interested in after school activities so that she is not chasing boys.
Good luck to you and your daughter.
the other S.
Well, you can't actually rush a period...
I hope that you read each and every post on your thread asking if your daughter might be gay. They are ALL pretty much trying to tell you not to push your daughter to grow up. You are all over the place with all 3 of your posts emotionally. You really need some help learning how to deal with the teen years. I hope you get it.
My period started 3 months before I turned 14. If anyone had told me that I was abnormal, I would have been crushed. You should consider her LUCKY to not have the worry of a period yet. Cramps, bleeding, emotions all over the place, premenstral stuff, mood swings. THAT is when you really will know she's not a "child" anymore.
At the point that you DO take her to a gyn, make SURE it's a woman. I would not take her now - it's too early.
Lastly, please stop trying to compare her to all of her friends. This reminds me of women who worry about why their babies aren't walking at 12 months because their friends' babies are walking at 11 months. This insecurity will only hurt you and your daughter.
I started right before I turned 11 but my cousin three weeks older than me was 15 almost 16. So it just depends on the person.
I started at 14. All my friends had started before me. I say she is normal and don't worry about it. There is a bell curve at what age it starts you know...some girls are earlier and some later.
My mom started at nearly 13 and I didn't start till nearly 15. It's all good. I'd just relax.
It's fine and the later she starts, the better for her health, frankly.

My first period came at 15.
13 is still young, relax and wait.
There is a wide range of normal. Girls in my family started anywhere from 10 to 16 years old. They were all "normal."
Normal. They are all different.
I got my period a month before I turned 14. I would mention it to her doctor at her next physical.
Normal. Any day now. :-)
