Hello Z.,
well, I have read your other question before this one. And I do understand that it is your parental right not to get your child vax. But you have to think about that even though another child is vax and would not get the illness of whatever is out there, they are still or can be carriers and can pass it over to your child. And you have to take in thought if you are with another child that is not vax can they carry something as well. And you still or may have problems by the time your child goes to school. Even though there are some parents who did not go through hoops to get their child in school, you maybe that one percent who will have many problems with the school board. And there is the possiblity that the school board may not allow your child to come in unless they have an allergy to the vaxes. So there is alot of food for thought as you choose this path. I do wish you luck and hope you don't run into many problems behind all this. You may get lucky and she maynot catch a thing but it is like rolling dice. You never know if you are always going to hit that luck number! Good luck!

I've heard that you only have to worry about transmission with the live virus vaccines, which (I may be wrong here) are chicken pox and MMR. So you shouldn't have to worry until the vax baby is 12 months, when he/she will be vaccinated for chicken pox, and then only if you are truly afraid of your healthy child contracting chicken pox.

I would check the discussion board at mothering.com, where there are extremely well-informed moms on the vaccines forum.

both my mom and my aunt decided not to vax their youngest kids. they now range in ages from 15 to 8, and all 5 of them have never had a problem because of it. i would think that traveling through the usa should be fine, but i would be a bit concerned about traveling outside the usa. vax can be scary! my son who is now 6 got measles from the mmr when he was 2 1/2. he was very sick for a very long time. i learned after the fact that it is a live vax. so he is not getting the second one and my littlest boy is not getting any mmr. i also refuse to do the chickenpox vax. the only thing that my mom, aunt and myself have ever had to deal with is getting a note from the dr. to give to the school. but that is not hard. once you have the note, file it and only give the schools copies of it. i have heard that if you switch dr.s it can be harder to get the note necessary. good luck!!!!!

I agree with Ellen C. My first born (now 7) was vaxxed up to age 6 months when I stopped. I didn't want to risk a reaction (as you know, there are so many shots in one visit). I wanted to space them out and wait till he was much older. My daughter (now 3) got her first shot at age 2. I did not worry about other children at all as I did a lot of reading on this topic (there are great question Vaccination books out there right now.) I was mindful not to let her be around any children "shedding" shots. She wasn't in a daycare, so it wasn't an issue. I want to wait til she is older for any shot I might give her. The mothering.com Vax board is * really * an amazing resource.

You should Vax your baby. That way you wont have to worry about it.
So many things your baby can be safe from if you get her her shots.
PLEASE vax your baby! She can even gets diseases from you that you bring home.
