Non-vaccinating Friendly Doctor in Bolingbrook Area

Hi. I know that I am going to have people saying that I have to vaccinate my child. I am not requesting to hear that. I am still trying to decide, but my current doctor is willing to wait until she is 3, but not willing to completely go without. We are currently waiting, but I am more interested in completely avoiding vaccinations. I'd like to find doctors that are willing to go along with this somewhere around the Bolingbrook area for future use.
Thanks,
H.

There are laws in IL about vaccines and your child being allowed to attend public, or parochial school (pre school as well). If you would like to avoid vaccines for the remainder of your childs life (I do not agree, but I know in the event of an epidemic, my kids are as safe as possible) I would suggest looking into home schooling. Or, you could research what religion has an objection to vaccines, and convert.

you do know that a measles out break is on the verge of becoming a problem in the midwest right now dont you? all the while vaccination problems and autism diagnoses statistics have had no change since people started choosing not to use them. Most of the people who have contracted measles are small unvaccinated children, and foreign tourists. A few vaccinated children have caught it, after being exposed to unvaccinated children. Just thought you should know. It was in the news last week, you can Google it. The only docs I know of who will allow a complete avoidance are homeopathic, which its hard to find one who went to medical school, unless you have religious reasons. Good luck.

While I don't agree and think it is dangerous not to vaccinate children, I understand your concern given that some vaccines do have mercury in them. I am not for all vaccinations as I think sometimes they over-vaccinate people. However, I know that State insured daycares and all public schools require vaccinations to attend. Vaccines generally protect a person's health. Certain things if children catch it are very likely to deathly ill or worse. Other things it is best to ensure they get vaccinated to have a safe and healthy adulthood. Such as chickenpox can be extremely bad if caught during adulthood.

I wish they had had the rotavirus vaccine out before my son caught it when he was 18 months. Those three days at the hospital were the scariest of my life. Rotavirus nearly took my son's life. The doctor and I first thought it was a simple stomach flu, but when my son started to become dehydrated I rushed him to the ER. My bright vibrant never slow down kid got dehydrated so quickly he was just a limp gray form in my arms by the time we arrived a very short 5 minutes later. They got him to rehydrate and told me to come back if he got dehydrated again. Unfortunately, he did and another terrifying rode to hospital.

They admitted him in the hospital and kept him on an IV, but even with a IV he was still in very bad shape. He stayed dehydrated badly due to the havoc the rotavirus did. (It causes severe vomiting and diarrhea.) The second night in the hospital was the worst. My son was so bad that the doctor and I feared he wouldn't make it through the night since he was so deathly pale and completely unresponsive. Luckily, by the Grace of God he did pull through with a full bounce back.

So please think very hard about the risk you could be taking. I know as a mom you have to do what you think is best, but hope you do choose to vaccinate.

Hi H.,

Everyone will have their own opinion...and you didn't even ask for one! People can express that vaccines have saved lives, which is true. However, my mommy instinct told me to stop vaccinating my youngest and good thing I did. She is prone to seizures and the neurologist told me behind closed doors that I probably saved her live by following my instinct. (She seized for over 5 hours, on a respirator, in a coma and then finally stopped...this was all without a trigger of a vaccine.)

www.homefirst.com provides care without recommending vaccines. The will educate you on the pros/cons of both decisions.

As for homeschooling...definitely not necessary in IL if it is your choice not to vaccinate. A book to read: Educate Before You Vaccinate In the appendix there is information on IL laws and what needs to be provided if your choice is not to vaccinate.

I'm sure everyone has their own judgements...just as I respect your decisions, I hope you will respect mine. We need to stick together as Mom's, which we all know is the hardest most rewarding job in the world.

I am a chiropractor in Villa Park and I support your choice not to vaccinate. A very good website to check out is icpa4kids.com. It has a lot of info about choosing not to vaccinate and it might be able to give you a link to medical doctors that will be okay with your decisions. It will definitely give you names for chiropractors in your area. By the way, it is not a law that you have to vaccinate. Some daycares and private schools require it but public schools can not reject your child because they arent vaccinated. The website should also have more info about that for you.
