Hello, I had a baby in June... and have only had one "period" since he was born. I will spot for a day if I forget to take my pill the day before... haven't figure that one out yet. But I have never really had a normal period... when I was 16 I was put on birth control to try to fix this problem and it didn't help - actually I ended up with my first little one about 9 mo later in 1994. I have 4 kids total - three of which were born after 2001 when I was told I had P.O.S. and that I wouldn't be able to any more kids without assistance (was told that by 2 different doctors), and I only had the help of my hubby with all of my pregnancies!
Also, my sister has five kids and also was told she has P.O.S. She doesn't have regular periods eather... we both can go for years without having one. It can make having a baby more of a challange. But I have found that my hubby is more then willing to help me "bet" the odds. Actually, we have both found if we have one we'd better go take a test cause most likely it means are expecting.
Plus, sometimes it take your body a while to get back into it's normal flow again. If you nursed your baby that can also affect how long you go without one too. If your doctor isn't concerned I wouldn't be... but if you still are, ask her/him to set you up a hormone test. It will let you know if your body is still producing the right hormore levels. Mine does, I just don't have periods. I've learned to kinda like it... saves me money in the long run. :)
When it comes to the shot... sometimes it takes a while to get out of your system. I was told to stop the shot a year before you wanted to have a baby... cause sometimes it takes that long get your hormone levels back to the right levels.
Oh, stress can also stop you body from having periods... so don't stress out about it. Enjoy your little one!!!
