Hello all! I had my paraguard IUD out in October of last year and my periods were always on time. But since it was removed I have not had a period. I have had numerous tests done and everything is that of perfectly healthy 30 year old, no sign of premature menapause our ovian failure. I also have had two ultrasound on my oviaries and uterus and everything looks good. So my doctor put me on the pill to "create" a period and still nothing after 2 months. So he suggests that I see a reproductive doctor. Has anyone ever expienced this and if so what was the outcome? Thank you!

I had problems with my IUD. After they ran about a million tests and nothing turned up (I'm also almost 30 and pretty healthy)I had them remove it. It has been six months and I'm still not "normal" compared to what I was before I started having kids. After asking a lot of questions and reading a lot of material, I've decided to wait it out. If they've checked the hormone levels then you are probably in the clear for the pituitary thing (my doctor thought that was my problem at first). I decided to just be patient and not take anything for a while. Let your body do what it needs to. If you are trying to get pregnant and can't then I would see someone. Otherwise, just try to eat well, get enough sleep and exercise and enjoy your kids.

Has your doc run blood tests? My 20 year old niece was not having periods for a few months, had been on the pill and went off of it. She had ultra sounds to check uterus and ovaries, fine. Her blood work showed high levels of prolactin which could indicate pituitary tumor. She had MRI of the brain and she does have a very small tumor on the pituitary gland, which is causing "no periods". The neurologist is reviewing her case now to decide course of action. Sorry to sound scary, but check it out sooner than later. Good luck!

Hi J. -

You have a condition identified as amenorrhea. It is the lack of menstruation. Dong Quai is an herb commonly used to bring on menstruation. Also, hormonal balancing herbs like Vitex (Chaste Tree Berry) can also be helpful as it regulates both estrogen and progestrogen hormones.

If you are interested in a more complete herbal protocol, you can contact me or I can refer you to another herbalist.

I have not been through what you are going through. However in Tucson may I suggest Dr. Scot Hutchison. My sister is having trouble getting pregnant and I went with her to her appt. He was so nice and very understanding. I think if you need to see a specialist you should give him a try if that is a possibility.

I recommend trying acupuncture. Dr. Li Xu at SWAC in Albuquerque is wonderful in treating women's issues. It's gentle and very effective. If you'd like her number contact me or you can just call the school. Best of luck, S.

you may need to balance your hormonal system - the best things I know of that help with precisely this are called Sumacazon and Lunazon - they are formulated of wild grown botanicals sustainably harvested from the Amazon rain forest - let me know if you are interested in more information
