No Morning Sickness with the 3Rd???

Hi ladies! I’m looking for a bit of reassurance here! With my first 2 pregnancies, I was sicker than a dog starting at or before 5 weeks until about week 20. I was nauseous all day long and vomited at least once a day. This time around I’m over 6 weeks now and pretty much have not had any morning sickness at all. I’m a tiny big nauseous right after I eat if I eat too much or too fast but other than that I’ve got nothing. I actually feel pretty good – not crabby or anything. Pretty much my only symptoms of pregnancy right now is that I’m more tired than usual, I’m really hungry all the time and my boobs are getting big (sorry, probably TMI)! My husband says I should be grateful because I was so sick with my daughters but I’m worried that something is wrong. Is there anyone else out there that was deathly sick with one baby and then nothing with another?

What can I do next?

I had absolutely no morning sickness when I was pregnant with my son. Now I am 38 weeks pregnant with a girl and I felt sick nearly all day long until about 13 weeks too. Maybe it's a boy? :)

Maybe you are having a boy. I know people who were deathly sick with one sex and not the other. Congrats on the baby.

Well I have only had one, but I didn't ever have even a hint of morning sickness. I was totally worried about it too, just like you are. But my daugher could not have been more healthy and happy. She was the most content baby I've ever seen too. She NEVER cried unless she was hungry. Now, she just finished Kindergarten and had a fabulous year! So maybe that just means you are in for smooth sailing.

i apologize for this, but i had to laugh a little when i read this. that is totally me right now. with my first (a girl now 2 years old), i was so sick i had to walk out on my food service job. this time around, hardly sick at all. our theory is that this one must be a boy since i'm not sick hardly at all. you can always call your doctor's office and ask them about it too.

Ahhhhh.....you're fine!!! This one might be a boy!!!!
With my first son, I got sick about once a week, and that was it....of course on that day, I didn't want to eat or smell anything like food.........at all....no cooking,nothing.........with the second one, (son) I had afternoon sickness.......be fine and then boom.........

So, yes, it's very possible to be just fine.......maybe this one thinks the other two made you pay your dues and it's just being nice!

Congrats and I'm glad you are doing great..............

Every preg is different!
I had no sickness at all with my first. In fact, your description matches my first preg.
Not so lucky this second time around. My current preg is much different in a lot of ways.
Don't worry mama! You've got plenty of other symptoms. Count your blessings that you're not sick this time! :)

My aunt said she was sick with her first and third but not her second. Her first is a boy, second and third are girls. She claims her second was just an all around more mellow baby and so didn't upset her stomach as much.

Absolutely... just because you had morning sickness with your other two had no bearing on this pregnancy. Each one is different and I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. At your next check up mention it to your Dr... could be that you are having a boy this time and the female hormones given off my your daughters are not making you as ill as your previous pregnancies or this one is just different. I have two sons and each pregnancy was so different, I got huge with my first one and the 2nd I hardly gained 20 lbs.. who knows why they are so different. Both were healthy children at birth and now too. Good Luck..but I wouldn't worry too much..

With my first I was sick for the whole 10 months (1 month post-natal...ugh). I was vomiting at least once a day on a good day - bad days was five. Needless to say I was miserable. Now I'm 4 months pregnant with my second and I was more intensely sick the first 3 months but lately I've only been sick about 4 days out of the week. The rest of the week I'm just extremely tired. I've been told by my gyno and other Moms that each pregnancy can be completely different so no worries =)

You are experiencing exactly what I had while pregnant with both my boys, ages 6 & 2. I am so grateful that I did not get the morning sickness stuff. Every pregnancy is different so I do not think you should be worried, just thankful! Have you spoken with your doctor? That might ease your mind also. Otherwise, just enjoy!

If you are concerned, I would check with your doc. I assume you have gone in for your first visit already? Like others have said, every pregnancy is different. For me, each one got worse, unfortunately. My best pregnancy was like you explain yours, but lasted the whole time. My worst included hospitalization for dehydration, at home IV therapy for dehydration and anti-nausea meds, losing 30 lbs, going days and weeks with out being able to eat or drink anything at all, any smell making me vomit, vomiting 20 times a day on average, not being able to work during the entire pregnancy and barely getting out of bed during it, etc. So, I agree with your husband, be grateful that you are not sick this time. I do understand your concern that something could be wrong, though, which is why I would talk to the doc. If you haven't yet, I would ask for an ultrasound to ease your worries. I hope everything turns out alright and congrats on the new pregnancy!

Oh, if only I could be assured of such a blessing on the third round! (I might have another one if I could!). I have had the same experiences that you have had when it comes to morning sickness (all day and ugh).

If you've got the same daddy for all three, then it might just be that you are carrying a boy this time. The babies put out hormones that affect us (so we'll stay pregnant), and the amounts of hormones changes depending on the specific genetics of your baby. One of my mom friends had the experience where she was sick as a dog for one gender, and then for the O. it was clear sailing. So perhaps this is what's going on for you!

I hope you have a lovely pregnancy and a healthy baby!

Don't worry. Every pregnancy is different. I had no nausea my whole pregnancy, no morning sickness. Pregnant women hated me :) I was also ravenous (for food) the first trimester. Good luck!

My first one was awful...my second one I felt ok, and eventually miscarried at 11 1/2 weeks, my third I was a miserable basket case and put on medical leave, and my fourth...is right now...and I feel better than I've felt for the previous three (including the miscarriage) and at 10 1/2 weeks, we had an ultrasound showing a healthy, big-for-date baby!

no morning sickness with my first daughter.
A tiny bit with my second (a boy)
And VERY sick with my third (gender unknown)
I don't know what causes morning sickness and why some get it all the time, some never, and some hit and miss....
I pray you won't get any this time!

I am sure you already got a bunch of reassurance, but I thought I would share my two cents! My 1st two pregnancies I never understood why people complained about being sick all the time. I felt bad for them since I was never sick with either of my girls. I was just tired. My 3rd pregnancy I was sicker then a dog all day for the 1st 15 weeks. As long as all the other symptoms are there, enjoy it and don't look back to your previous pregnancies!

Ive always heard that most people get more sick with girls than boys so if your first two are girls maybe this one is a boy! :o)

Don't worry!! My first pregnancy with my son was morning sickness free. It was great! My second pregnancy with my daughter was tougher. I had terrible morning sickness until the 5th month! All pregnancies are different. I am guessing you might be having a boy since you were sick with your girls and not with this one?? Congrats and enjoy this easy pregnancy!
