Nipple Flow/size

I am wondering when to go from a slow flow nipple to a faster one. Anyone have any ideas? My son eats breast milk from a bottle. He is 3 1/2 months old. We use the playtex vent aire, both wide mouth and regular size nipple.
Thanks

R.,
We toyed with the idea of changing nipple flow sizes, but my daughter's cranio sacral therapist made a good point regarding nipple flow sizes. If you were breastfeeding, would your nipple flow grow? He said they don't need it.

From my understanding, most people get a larger flow nipple because they add cereal to the bottle. Otherwise, the flow shouln't need to be changed. Our daughter is 9 months and uses a 1 size flow nipple. She's a good eater and has never complained about the nipple flow, because she doesn't know anything different.

Just one point of view regarding nipple flows...

I would check the packaging, but I think the change is recommended for around 6 months.

We kept the slow flow nipple as long as possible to still promote SOME breast feeding on the breast...but once she decided she wanted the bottle more (around 8 months) I couldn't convince her otherwise (except when she was sleepy at night) Keep it as long as you can, unless you are transitioning to ONLY bottle and no breast and just pumping.

Unless you are switching to formula do not change to a faster flow nipple. When it gets too easy for him to drink from the bottle he will likely refuse your breast.
My 14 months old still drinks her expressed breast milk from a slow flow nipple (though it doesn't really matter anymore at this age) without any issues.
