My daughter has been waking up for the past month or so screaming a few times throughput the night.."My dora" or "My mommy" or "I don't want that". She will fall back to sleep or is sreaming in her sleep. What is going on? Are these night terrors? Any advise?

What can I do next?

sounds like nightmares, terrors are when they are hysterical and you can't calm them down - they are awake, but not really awake.. if she's mentioning Dora, then she's probably having dreams about Swiper taking MOmmy - that happened to my niece.. they stopped her from watching Dora and the nightmares stopped.. try that and see if they stop..

This sounds like night terrors to me. My oldest is 28 months and she does this sometimes, though she usually just cries and cries for no apparent reason and talks gibberish when you try to comfort her. Eventually, she just calms down and goes back to sleep. This is very normal for kids this age! I would just go in and see if you can help soothe her, otherwise, she'll just bring herself out of it after a while.

Hi. My daughter has been doing that since she was about 14 months old. Except she doesn't say anything, she just screams like nothing you've ever heard. The first time I heard it, I thought something awful was going on in her room. But she was sound asleep by the time I got there (which was seconds). She does it at about the same time every night and just falls right back asleep without any assistance from me. I don't really have any advice, I just wanted to share that your daughter isn't the only one that does it. It really doesn't seem to affect my daughters sleep any...just mine. Good luck
