Did you kids night train around the same age during potty learning? My son is looking to night train at the same age as his sister. In fact, he poop trained at the same age too.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Let me rephrase my question since it wasn't clear: Did you kids start waking up dry at the same time age?

My question is not about night training (yes it is a physical developmental issue. I merely asked, did your kids train (i.e. the normal word for development in potty learning) at the same age at night?

I ask, because my daughter night trained at 22 months, and my son, now at 22 months, has woken up dry 3 times in the last week. He is in trainers --and takes himself to the toilet about 95% of the time. I was just curious if other people saw that their kids matured developmentally around these issues at the same time. Cause, seriously, they both started using the potty regularly at 18 months, and then at 21 months they poop trained, at now it looks like 22 months will be the time they both night trained. I find it weird.

My son would wake up dry before the age of 2. He was fully potty trained by 2 and about a month later is when i stopped putting pull ups on a night because he didn't need them. But i never did anything to train him for night. I don't go wake him up to pee he just holds it til morning.

There is no such thing as night training, it is not a behavioral issue, it is a biological one. When their bladder matures to the point that it can hold the urine all night or his body wakes him up, he will start waking up dry. I left my sons in pull ups until they woke up dry every morning for a month. This happens naturally at different ages for different kids. The average is between the ages of 2 and 5, with 6 and 7 not being abnormal. Some kids are older, my nephew was 8, my cousin was 12.

Both my daughter and grandson were dry at night before they were potty trained. Pure luck and heredity; it's not a matter of "training" or will. There are several physiological functions that need to mature, and some kids just can't stay dry through the night until years later, no matter how deeply they wish they could.

To my knowledge you can not night train. It is purely developmental. My one daughter was night trained when she was day trained at 2 1/2. It took my other daughter many years to stay dry at night.

You can't night train a child. Their body just needs to be ready. It is determined by heredity and how deeply they sleep. My daughter was "day" trained at 26 months, but continued to wet the bed, with decreasing frequency, until she was 8 years old. Some children are 11 or 12 before they can sleep dry. If you are one of the lucky ones, your son will be able to sleep dry. If not, you will just need to deal with it, because there is nothing you can do to make it happen.

Yes, my two girls were about the same age when they were potty trained at night. But I understand that many kids are much older before they are potty trained through the night.

He was night trained within two months after his daytime potty training was over. BEST THING EVER!
