Night Time Wetting

Hi everyone - Our three year old is almost totally potty trained. A little over a month ago we said bye bye to diapers and pull ups cold turkey. Nothing else was working. The first few days were a mess but she slowly but surely got it. Now, she's almost totally dry during the day, but for the past few nights she's wet the bed each night. This is frustrating because she had gone almost two whole weeks without a nighttime accident. I want to go back to pull ups at night but she's not having it. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! The amount of laundry we are doing because of this is really freaking me out. Is there any end in sight???? Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I had a talk with Amelia tonight about wearing special "night time" pull-ups. I told her that even big girls sometimes wear pull-ups at night, and that she can still always wear panties during the day. After she had a chance to get comfortable with the idea, she eventually put it on all by herself. Yay!

I have a son that still wets the bed sometimes.
I just explained to him that he is wearing big boy pull ups.
He will be 4 May 1. My two daughters never had this problem. I guess it just takes longer with some kidos.
Try not to get mad at her that will just make her feel worse.
I'm sure she is just as upset that she does wet the bed.
Good luck!

Have you tried cutting back on her drinks before bed time ? That usually helps ! But some kids still wet the beds no matter what . I have a set of twins that will be 8 and every once in a while they still wet the bed . Also if she is on certain medications not saying she is but they will wet the bed because of the medications . Also you need to make sure nothing has changed in her life dramaticaly .

My son did the same thing. I have heard it is pretty common for kids to do this. We told our son that it was better for him if he wears the pull-ups just a little longer. Try to make your daughter see it, not as punishment that she has to start wearing them again, but b/c you love her and you want to help her have a good-night sleep and not wake up with tee-tee all over her. We let our son pick out the design of his pull-ups and even had a little sticker calendar where he put stickers on the days he didn't have an accident. Once he reached a certain goal, we let him pick out some new underwear. Before we knew it, he stopped wetting the bed and for good this time.

Also, something to try when you are at home with your daughter during the day....I love the sing and read series from Frog Street Press. They do colors, numbers, alphabet, nursery rhymes, etc... They even have reproducible activities and ideas to do that go along with each lesson. I bet your 4 month old would like the music too :) I got my sets off of E-Bay, but they also sell them at www.frogstreet.com

If you find out a way to help let me know. I have a six year old that still wears pull ups at night. He never has accidents during the day but we just can't seem to get him to stop at night. We don't give him anything to drink after a certain time, make him go before he goes to bed and he still wakes up with a full pull up in the morning. I certainly understand the frustration!!!

My kids would do the same thing once they were potty trained. I fixed my problem by not giving them a drink several hours before bedtime and make sure they go potty right before they go to sleep. If she is still awake for a while try to take her again to potty. If she is really begging for a drink let her have a small sip to quinch her thirst but make sure she goes right before bed even if she says she doesnt have too put her on the pot. Hope it works for you.
