Hello Everyone,
I have a 2 1/2 yo little boy and every once in awhile he will be very sweaty at night when he is going to sleep or shortly there after. It is not occuring all the time. He is very active before bed. Dosen't have a fever, eating fine and having no other issues. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this in their children or am I crazy. He has been like this since I can remember.

What can I do next?

You might want to get him checked out for a heart murmur. My son used to sweat so bad I'd change his clothes multiple times a day, I took him to the doctors and she found a murmur. We went to a cardiologist and they found he had narrow tubes going to his lungs and a hole in his heart. That was when he was under a year old, he's almost 3 now. No surguries needed and he's doing much better. Most murmurs go away on thier own and some small holes can be left. Seeing that your son is 2, they should have found it by now, but it's worth a ask next time your at the doctors with him! Goodluck, hope all is well!

What kind of PJs is he wearing? I found that the fleece footed PJs are way too hot for my kids. They sleep in lightweight cotton year round.

My little guy (now 2 and a half) has the same problem. The crazy thing is, that he feels cool to the touch. I never worried much as I looked into it (asked pediatrician, web searches) and one of the body's way of letting itself know its time to slow down and go to sleep is that our body temp actually drops at night, and sweating as a result is not uncommon. Its just your body's way of trying to adjust to its desire to be cooler. But, you aren't the only one, and I wouldn't worry too much.

I have a little sweat-er too. From day one, I called him "my little heater". He flushes and sweats mostly just as he's going to sleep. He tends to flop the covers off at that time and then wakes up cold in the middle of the night once he's regulated his temperature.

I know my son does that if its too warm in his room and he's wearing too much to bed, but if its a constant thing and you're worried about it, bring it up to his doctor the next time he's in for a checkup.

I have a four almost five year old daughter. She has been sweating in her sleep for as long as i can remember. Everyone says it's because of her hair. She is biracial, and has long thick hair. Does he snore in his sleep?
