My husband and I are having our 5th year anniversary on the 23rd.I'd really like for us to go out to a nice restaurant. I just moved here in September so all I know are the local fast food places. Could anyone recommend a restaurant that is not too pricey, good portions, good food, and something kinda romantic. If not romantic something with good food!!. I'm also 8 1/2 months pregnant and I'm always hungry!!

What can I do next?

First--Congratulations!

There are a lot of great affordable restaurants around Portland--my two favorites are Cassidy's on 12th & Washington downtown, and Fernando's Hideaway (tapas), which is also downtown, though i can't remember exactly where. both have fantastic atmosphere. If healthy portions are a must, then i'd go with cassidy's--good, solid comfort food.

But what I'd really recommend is to go to portland.citysearch.com. they have a ton of restaurant reviews and even have lists of things like "top romantic restaurant"...I always look there when i want to try somewhere new.

It is a bit of a drive but the Cheesecake Factory in Beaverton is great. It is by the mall off of hwy 217. Very large portions for a good price...and the cheese cake is wonderful...esp for those cravings..

L. - My favorite restaurant is Bugatti's. There's one in Hillsboro (near Streets of Tanasbourne shopping center, off Cornell Rd.) & Beaverton (on the corner of Jenkins & Cedar Hills Blvd.). My recommendation at that restaurant is the Beef Tenders -- Yum!!

I would suggest the Melting Pot. If fondue is something you like. VERY romantic to feed each other!!! I would call a week in adavance for reservations (at least). They are downtown off of Salmon and 3rd I think.

Congrats too!
