I wish I were writing to you to have some useful advice to your question but I am not.
I'm writing to say....YAY!!! someone that has kids the same (a year off) as mine!!! So, I'm also guessing that you may be in MY age range too!
We moved to the area from Texas a little over 3 weeks ago. I am home schooling my 16 year old. Is there something I do to be able to home school here in North Carolina (I'm in the Charlotte area)? In Texas you did not have to test or sign up with anyone. I would also like to know if there are any home school groups.

Hi Crystal,
There are rules and forms to file to homeschool in NC. www.nche.com – the North Carolina Home Education site is a good place to go. www.hslda.org– You can look up the requirements needed to home school. There is mandatory testing, etc. There are also a LOT of homeschool groups you can join. Some are support others are purely social. Some are listed by the part of town you live in. There are a lot of Homeschoolers in Charlotte.
Good luck!!
I have a friend who homeschools here... let me get some info. from her and I will get it to you.

Another website that might be helpful for the Charlotte area is Charlottemommies.com. They have information for our area. I have found this one and Charlottemommies.com helpful. We are also from Texas. Hope you love it here as much as we do!
