COngratulations on meeting our humid climate and our friendly mosquitos, I am sure that you will love it here. My name is E. Turner, I am a 27 year old working wife and mother of 2. Ellie is 7 and HErbert is 6, we live in Youngsville, just south of lafayette. I can sure relate to being at home while the husband is offshore. Before returning to work after having the kids, my husband worked offshore on living quarters and then on the well head side. Thank God that he is now in the office, no more long weeks waiting for the flight in. I aswell have returned to the office of an offshore comp. after both of the kids of started school.
Lafayette is ful of things to do with the kids and I am sure that can find things to do. We have lots of festivals and Cultural events that keep anyone in Acadiana busy. Everything from Vermillionville to Acadian Village to the Zoo and the Kart Ranch in Broussard. And Plenty of places to shop. I'm in Opelousas which is about half a hour away from Lafayette. I have 3 kids: Calista's 8, Ursula's 4, & Wyatt's 19 mths old. I'm a stay-at-home mom. My dh is a pipe fitter/welder working in Broussard.

If you're in to having a natural birth, there's a nice place that recently opened in Lafayette called Gentle Choices: http://www.gentlechoicesbirth.com/ I have no affiliation with it but am on a mailing list with the ladies who work here. There's at least one Midwife there.

Also, if you're interested in breastfeeding, I've been doing it for a while now and can help and/or support you :)

My name is N.. I'm 33 and have two boys! Curri is 12 and Cole is 4. I would be happy to get to know you. I've been married for almost 15 years. We live in Henderson. We own a roller skating rink in Opelousas. We work only weekends.
Actually we are getting a foreign exchange student on August 2nd from Slovakia. I'm so excited that I will actually have a girl in our house. I get to do "girl things" for once! She is 16 and will be with us for 10 months.
Well, I love walmart too! My kids love it too. Actually we are about to get a Super Walmart near our home. It should open this month. I can't wait. It will be easier than going to Lafayette every time.
I hope we can get to know each other. I know you have your hands full with 2 small boys and one on the way. My 4 year old is such a handful. He is starting pre-k in august. I can't wait.
