Hi A.
Try Peter's Wood Park off of Bebout Rd...
I live in south park but I have friends who live in Peter's who take the kids there to socialize
Hope this helps out
We moved to the area during Thanksgiving from Philadelphia. It was our first move with kids and households. I am having a hard time meeting other moms and playmates for my kids, especially my oldest, who turned 5 in Dec. We go to the Rec Center and I am going to start going to the Library. I came from an area that had the YMCA has the hub for the community and I seem to be lost with out it. I am also looking into the moms club in the area too. Moving during the winter and during the holiday season was rough. I wasn't able to get the kids in any activities until after the New Year. I would love to meet other mom's and hang out and do play dates. I realize come warmer weather, we'll head to the parks and probably meet people there. Do you have any other suggestion? Especially now. I miss my friends and need to make new ones here. Thanks for any input.

Hi,
Have you heard of the Little Gym in Peter's in the same strip mall as the Giant Eagle? Kids & parents love it and it's fairly easy to meet people there. I agree that the library is a good start -- you might try Upper St. Clair's, too, just off rt. 19 in their municipal building kind of behind the high school. There's Barnes & Noble storytimes, too, at South Hills Village Sat. & Tues. at 11. Also, a friend of mine organizes a mom's club that has a couple activities a month. They're done for Feb., but send me a message and when I know about March I can pass it on to you. Get-togethers tend to be in the USC/Bethel area.
By the 'bye, do your kids go to pre-school? You should be able to start someplace mid-year like this, but I don't know personally about schools in Peters.
Hi A.! I'm M. Berdyck, mother of two girls, 4.5 and 10 months. I live in Mt. Lebanon, about 15 minutes north of Peters. I moved 2 years ago from Baltimore and can empathize with all you are saying. One difference for me, my parents are here, but still, I've been there! give me a call- ###-###-####. Let's meet at the mall play area or ChickFilA on 19 or something and chat. I can tell you about local groups and activities. :_) talk to you soon.
My Mom runs a wellness center just behind Donaldson's crossroads shopping center called Changing Seasons(300 Cedar Hill Drive). There is a great kids and Mom's music class there called music together that runs I think on Monday mornings. Really fun and swwet and really nice people.
Try the See Saw center in Castle Shannon! They have a website, so google it when you get a chance.
Hey A., I know how you feel. I just moved here (Mt Lebanon) from NC in January. Meeting new people in this weather is hard. I did meet one person at the library. Our Kids instantly clicked. The local libraries have story time that I take her to every week. NOt that I have met many people but the library can't be a bad start.
