New Pair of Black Pants Has a Sulfer Smell

I have a new pair of black stretchy pants (polyester, spandex, cotton), but they have a sulfer smell to them (kind of the smell when you light a match)...I didn't notice it as much in the store. I think it might be either the dye or the spandex. I've soaked them in baking soda and vinegar and washed at least twice, but still they have that smell. I'm sure it's the chemicals in the dye...when I run them through the dryer, it seems to get stronger. Any suggestions on how to get it out?

What can I do next?

I would get it out (of my house) by returning the pants to the place of purchase.

Sorry.

I've had the exact same problem and asked the same question here:

Unfortunately, nothing worked. So I returned them. I think it's the heavy preservatives that are used on bulk clothes prior to shipping and storage.

My daughter bought a pair of jeans like that and we could not get the smell out so they were donated to goodwill.
