I used this guy from Brinks, and so have many of my friends and clients. He's good and doesn't try to sell you things you don't need, or use "fear" to get you to buy more. He's been in the biz for a long time. Rod Reed ###-###-####.
I am buying my first home and need help with finding a good security company for my alarm system. Can you please let me know what I should ask when calling for estimates or maybe even an approximate amount I will be paying monthly for this service? As a first-time home owner I have lots of questions. They should have a person who works for first-time homeowners with everything from buying, decorating, maintaining and more. Sheesh...anyway, I love getting responses to my questions so please feel free to leave anything!

Monica,
We use Brinks and they have been great. We bought our house about 2 & 1/2yrs ago. Back then we paid about $100.00 for our setup package that included 2 keypads. Our house was already wired since we did not buy new construction. The monthly fee is $25.00-30.00. The tech that came to install the system was very helpful and made sure I was clear on how to work the system. He also left me with a DVD to answer anything I may not remember. We have had a few false alarms and the response time was great, by brinks & the local police. When we bought our house, I found our real estate agent to be a wealth of information for 1st time home buying questions. HTH
Sounds like you have an idea for your very own business. ;-)
We like Brink's (http://www.brinkshomesecurity.com/home-alarm-systems-spec.... If you call them, use referral code 111629606. Other companies may be cheaper but, a lot of times, you get what you pay for.
Hello,
I would recommend ASG Security. ###-###-#### They have much cheaper rates than Brinks & ADT. plust they offer a very cheap maintenance plan that will replace parts.
Hope this helps.
I know of a very good company but I would need your phone number so that I could get them to call you. I did not ask for your address because I do not need to know this. My e-mail address is ____@____.com
I would suggest Smith Thompson...Not sure what they charge for a brand new install because I already had an existing system, but they do not do contracts like Brinks and ADT that have you obligated for 3 years. They do month to month at $16.95 and they bill you every 3 months. I have had no issues with them, I get fast response times, and excellent service when needed. They are based right here in Texas. You can google them to get the phone number, I don't have it handy right now. Good Luck!
I don't have a security system right now and don't remember the name of the one we had in the past. But, I am a Realtor and several inspectors I use call Brinks to inspect security systems and to tell the Buyers what features their system has. I would also check with the Better Business Bureau to see what companies have had complaints against them. Your Realtor should be able to help you with any first-time homeowner questions.
I highly recommend ASG Security - I upgraded my system in January and they were great. I pay only $24/month - call Bob Malatia at ###-###-####.
Monica, when we moved 12 yrs. ago, I wanted the best alarm
system because we were moving into a larger home and I wouldn't be able to hear anything on the other side of the
house. We chose Brinks Home Secutity. I went out the patio
door one day and didn't realize my alarm was on. In 2 min.
police arrived, Brinks called them within 10 sec. We came in
from church one morning and my husband accidently pushed the
button next to one of our code #'s. Within 10 seconds Brinks
called to see if we needed assistance. I had to give him our
code, otherwise he would have sent the police. If your code
word is "teacher" and you say "strawberries" they fear someone
is there by you and your'e giving them the wrong code to let
them know. Also, if someone breaks in and trys to tell Brinks
everything is OK and they don't know the code word, the police
is immed. called.
After my daughter got her degree in Criminal Justice at North
Texas, she went to work for Brinks. She is now the top representative in Texas and in the top 20 in the nation.
Other security companies have tried to hire her, but she has
checked into 5 of the top security companies and she stands by
Brinks being the best. She is 26 and cares deeply about making
families safe. She did her internship at Arlington Police
Dept. and learned where and how burglaries happen in the home.
She is the first person Brinks calls when there is an emergency in a home because of her background.
I know you would be pleased. Her tel. # is ###-###-####. She
will be leaving for New York tom. morn. and returning Mon. so
if you call her today, she can set up an appointment for Tues.
