Yes and I'll save you the trouble of calling the doctor because I did! It's if it starts growing other places that you have to worry. ;)
Hey Ladies,
My son has hair on his legs all of a sudden. Is this normal? I suppose I could call the doc and ask, but I thought I'd throw it out to you ladies.
THANKS!

Hi J. -
That doesn't sound abnormal to me. My daughter seems to have subtly added hair from a few months old. Sometimes it catches me by surprise too. But you don't say how much hair he has on his legs. If it looks like an unusual amount by all means ask. I don't think this warrants a call to the doc unless you're seeing any unusual behavior or observing that your son is having any problems.
I don't mean to be vague - I'm hoping to help you feel calm about some sudden hair growth, yet still be watching for anything that might be unusual. This is probably nothing.
All the best,
Colleen
No. I have had that problem my entire life.
Allergies and reactions to animal hormones could be the problem. If your child eats cheese or drinks milk, those items naturally contain cow hormones. It could be an allergy to animal hormones. You may want to go vegan.
NAET.com for allergy eliminations.
Be well.

has he taken any steroids? my grandaughter takes them & is a furball! she will soon be taken off of them & the fur will lessen however i am hairy & her mom is even hairier so it runs in the family on both sides so it will not go away completely.
what his diet is like? feed him only organic milk and meat products and lots of organic veggies, see that hair go away.
Good Luck

Yup, as Deanna Leigh said, normal.
I have a son that age too... well he's almost 3 years old soon.
But he has tiny hairs on his legs now... and on his back.... (his Dad is hairy!). :)
But, its normal. Even girls get this way. My daughter was this way too.
No worries!
All the best,
Susan
Is the father, or any close relative very hairy?= Genetics.
Is the child under any medication that could cause it? or, has he come in contact, for a while with some product that would induce the cells to produce hair so soon? hey , you might be sitting, or better yet, he might be sitting on a barrel of money for those who have no hair, or very little.(This is intended as an ice braker).
If the child has none of the above, I would take him to a GOOD doctor, one who knows and can explain it without scarying the living lights out of you. I DO NOT THINK YOU SHOULD WORRY TOO MUCH, just take the thing simply and observe the kid, ask him questions with what has he played lately, etc, and finf a good Pediatrician. Remember that kids go through a lot while wrowing up. L..
I also wanted to pipe in since some people were questioning his diet and a possible allergy connection. We're totally organic and my son doesn't eat meat. He'll be three in November and also has (blonde) hair on his legs. I asked our pediatrician and our homeopath. Totally normal!
Totally normal, especially if hair runs in the family. My son kept popping up with sudden growths of hair - first long, lush eyelashes, then big, beautiful eyebrows, then a little mustache and that fur on his legs. And yes, I fed him organic milk, etc. It just runs in the family. I often joke about his thick mustache, and that he got it from mom, not dad. =)
