Hello Moms~

My beloved Shark steamer finally quit after less than two years. I am curious to know if anyone has tried the new Shark vacuum/steamer? I have to replace mine...with either that or another Shark, or another brand of steamer. Suggestions?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Dear Shark floor steamer,

I am leaving you...I have a new love, his name is Eureka. He is alot hotter and more reliable than you ever were. You were so noisy! Eureka is much quieter and I find that I even push him around easier than I ever could you. Your cord may be longer, but I can live without it.

Goodbye!

I have the Shark vacumn/steamer and I love it. It is very handy, convenient, and easy to operate. The vacumn picks up everything really well. I have seen posts on here that the vacumn is a little louder than necessary and that is true, but if it works great, so what?!

I agree with Victoria- I also ordered the Eureka Envirosteamer from Walmart. Go to Amazon and read the reviews- the Shark steamer only gets the water to 110 degrees- that is barley above bath water- not enough to sanitize. The Eureka heats the water to 225. I just got mine and so far I really like it- I will say that I like it better when I use a microfiber rag as the pad rather that the cotton waffle weave it came with- just personal preferance. As far as the vaccume/steamer combo- the idea is good but on things like that one of those features is ussually not at good as the other- probably best to keep vacumming seperately.

The only steamer that I found and I,ve pretty much used them all.> is the Hoover heated steamer works the best for small areas otherwise all of them after one use goes labamba. So use once if if goes labamba then take it back! Its a rip off those steamers!

I've owned the Bissell 31N1 Steam Mop Deluxe Hard Floor Cleaner for about a year now. Love it!

I bought the Shark vacuum/steamer and couldn't wait to use it. However, I wasn't so thrilled with the results. I loved the idea of having an all in one tool to do my floor cleaning, but it just didn't work for me. I used the vacuum part first, which made a loud high pitched noise. Might not sound like a big deal, until you use it and it drives you crazy. Plus, it didn't vacuum up the dirt or dust along the edge of walls. Then I tried the mop part, which I also wasn't too fond of because the steam wasn't constant and it was hard to mop in tight places. I have since returned the mop and bought the Shark Steam Mop, the one in the white box which is Shark's best one because it comes with lots of accessories. Anyways, I LOVE it! I can mop in tighter areas and I can choose how much steam I want to use. I'm not sure if there will ever be a great two in one product, but for now I'll stick with Shark's steam mop and a broom.

Oh, and you can use it on all hard floors...linoleum, tile, sealed hardwood floors, etc. I have tile and hardwood floors and it works great! I love that my floors don't get sticky from using other cleaners to clean my floor and I can use it everywhere in my house (since all the floors in my house are hard surfaces)! And, although no chemicals are being used, my house smells clean afterwards. My son and a huge accident at night in his bed (he was sick and he had throw up and diarrhea all over his bed). Some must have gotten on the floor because after cleaning the room it still smelled horrible until I pulled out the steam mop. I LOVE it!

Love my Eureka Envirosteamer. They don't carry it in the stores around here in stock, but Walmart carries it. You just have to use the site to store shipping (which is free). Love mine. It was only about $70.

I use the Eureka Envirosteamer, also, and love it.

(Thanks, Christina, for the tip on using a different pad on it! I'm going to try that.)

I would be interested in how well this steamer works on Pergo floors, or if you only use it on tile? I was thinking of getting one, but wanted someone's input first. Thanks......
