Looking to buy a new digital camera. Anybody have any suggestions on a good quality camera under $150? I am looking for one that doesn't take forever to take a picture and has a good quality photo.

What can I do next?

We need a new camera too, so I've been researching this. Our main thing was to have a camera take super fast pictures (minimum "shutter lag"). The camera I want is $300 though...Canon PowerShot SD970. Supposed to be awesome! The faster the picture taking, the more expensive it gets. Although, the Kodak EasyShare Z915 is relatively quick and is less than $200.

One thing you can do with digital cameras is buy the high-speed SD card. They cost more, but they will take pictures faster.

Find a Canon and you will have a good camera. They cost a little more, but take great pictures and they have several in your price range.
Don't get a camera with a lot of digital zoom, but instead be more concerned with the optical zoom.
And remember you are moving into Christmas season, keep an eye out for the deals!!

I have two Kodaks and love them. I tried the Nikon which was more expensive but returned it for the second Kodak. Kodak's take faster pics and the quality is great.

I do want an SLR camera next, which is definitely going to be pricey - but for regular everyday digital cameras, I have found Kodak to be my favorite (and this is with using several others that my family/friends have) I have over 10,000 pics on my computer from my camera so they have given me lots of use.

Kodak Easy-Share cameras. My daughter has 2 (bought one on e-bay and one at a pawn shop. They both work great! And she has won some photography contests with them.

I love my Kokak EasyShare Z950, unfortunately, that is not in your given price range. However, when researching cameras, I found that the Kodak's are one of the best for having a fast capture speed. So, you might want to check out some of their other models.
