Any suggestions on networking with other professionals? I have my own home based business, but find it difficult sometimes to network with other professionals. I have looked into networking groups, but most of them have high membership fees and meet during times that I am not able to get a baby sitter.

What can I do next?

Hi. I work from home and I am dealing with some of the same issues. Although, I find that having networking showcases are a great way to interact with one another and each can learn from eachothers businesses. Meetups.com is another place where you can find other businesses that may want to meet with you. Send me a note about your business. I am planning a networking showcase in the near future if at all interested! I may be willing to work with you and making something work!

Send me a private message and I can share with you some of the things that I do. I also need to know what kind of service so I can direct you in the right direction. My husband and I mentor other moms and dads on how to be successful from home. www.livegreeneasy.com

Hi B.-

I am also a business owner (I sell sterling silver jewelry) Log onto meetup.com There are many networking groups available at little or no cost to you. I don't know what you do, so you would need to find one that fits your style.

Good luck- Let me know if you need any help. I too have 3 kids, ages 7, 5 1/2 and 3. It can get very hectic at times!

There is an intresting software tool called linkedin. It allows you to network online with others based upon industry. I use it myself and love it. There is no cost for the basic version. www.linkedin.com.

You also may want to try other online organizations such as the National Organization of the Self Employeed.

Good Luck!
