So I love my job but I have been having a hard time lately. I am not sure that I want to do this the rest of my life. We have looked at me staying home to take care of this kids as daycare is costing us half of my monthly income. However we struggle as it is now so I would need to still make up the other half of my income if not more. I enjoy my kids going to daycare as they are being socialized and my daughter has really blossumed this last year she has been at this preschool. She starts school in August so I was looking at something that I could do at home and still make a pretty good income. I have tried marykay and avon but they havent brought in the income that I am needing. Do any of you know of something that could help me to stay at home so that I dont have to have my kids in daycare all week long. I would still like them to be socialized and I would need time to myself to get work done. I am open for ideas and suggestions. I currently do accounting but I am really interested in helpping people.

What can I do next?

You said you do accounting so private math tutoring came to mind.

Oh my gosh! Do I know the thing for you....Melaleuca. Have you heard of it? It's a home business much like Avon and Mary Kay but there is no inventory to keep, orders to take or deliver or money to collect. The income potential is incredible. Melaleuca is a wellness company and an awesome way to help others and make money at the same time. I've been involved before and will be starting it up in July (long story why I'm waiting until July). There are people in your area you could work with and who will mentor you. I'm in AZ, I would suggest working with someone local rather than long distance, although long distance can work. If you would like a phone number to call to find someone one local to contact for more info or just want more info from me, send me a message. I'd be glad to give you more details.

You are in the same spot that I was in six years ago. When we had our second child we did the math and found it that about half of my salary was going to go to daycare for both kids. So we figured out that without my salary we dropped down in the tax bracket so we wouldn't have to pay so much at the end of the year to Uncle Sam. This allowed us to adjust my husband's withholdings which gave us extra money per month. Then we calculated how much gas was going to save us since I had to drive 26 miles one way to work plus my clothing allowance since I worked in an office. Plus then you add the time you will now have to search for coupons and get better deals on items that you are going to purchase. With all of that we figured we could do it. I am still a stay at home mom to this day! It worked for us and I hope it will work for you!

I have some friends that make their yearly income in the three and a half months between the first of January and the 15th of April. They prepare taxes. They all work very long hours during those three months, but they take the rest of the year off.

Since accounting is your career field, check with local CPAs that specailize in taxes. You get a chance to help people and yet make a living.

The other thing you can do is to cut expenses. Shop the sales for groceries. If you are careful, you can shop the sales and feed your family on $25 per week per person and that includes non-edible items like diapers, dish soap and toilet paper. Start a garden. spend your work time gardening or some other useful item. When I lived in Albqq, I installed a solar clothes dryer. ;~)) It worked wonderfully and didn't heat up the house in the summer.

Good luck to you and yours.

You want to help people and get paid for it? If you love children, why not have an in home daycare? If you like to do accounting, then stick to your field and just do it from home. Thinik taxes or accounts receivable or accounts payable, or payroll etc. If you can bake, why not bake what you bake and sell it.

What can you actually do that people would pay for you to do.

My neice braids hair, paints tee shirts and jeans, babysits children overnight, and cleans houses. I have another friend that sells jewelry (lia sophia) while others sell mary kay or Avon.

You have to figure out what you can do and do that. I do great graphics for multi-media and worked on the CD cover and interior art for a local artist. Fun project and I'm expecting to get more work from the studio that produced his project.

Long story short, keep things simple, look at what you can do, what you would like to do and would people pay you to do it?

FYI another friend of mine house and pet sits for extra cash. There are so many things to do, think outside the box. Do your research and go to work. I would recommend starting your business first then seeing if it will generate the kind of income you need over quiting your job and finding out the income is really not consistent enough and you may need to do something else.
