I am wanting to know if anyone knows anything about Tendercare Pediatrics. Especially Dr. Clan. I am 8 months pregnant and a friend of mine told me about them. However, I am not sure if she uses them or if she just suggested them because they are not too far from me.

What can I do next?

We took my oldest to Tendercare prior to moving to Bardstown. We loved the office other than having to having to fight to have someone call us back when we would call for medical advice. When needing to get in for appointments they always fit us in. I have heard that the doctor we saw Dr. Grill is no longer with the office and he was primarily the reason we stayed with the office. We really loved him!

I don't know much about Tendercare or even where they are located. My pediatrician is wonderful. Dr. Dana Distler at Middletown Pediatrics. I don't know what area of town you are in but they are on Shelbyville Road just in MIddletown. Dr. Stuck is good as well. Dr. Borden just started there a few months ago and I haven't seen her that much, but Dr. Distler is awesome!!! I highly recommend them. Hope this info helps.

Hi J.,

My son is almost 4 months old (on the 18th of this month), and I've been taking him to Tender Care since he was born. I think they are absolutely wonderful!! Two of the doctors did their residency at Kosair, though I can never remember which because we usually see a different doctor there every time we go. But they have a very friendly office staff, wonderful nurses, a very kid-friendly environment (they even play Disney movies in the waiting room and the exam rooms), and the doctors really care about the children. They have always been wonderful to us! When my son was 5 days old we took him for his first weight check and found out that he had jaundice very bad, and they had him admitted to Kosair by 5pm that day. Now, every time he goes in, they remember him as the "Little Cheeto" because he was so yellow he was almost orange. The doctors, especially Dr. Clan, let you hold your baby as much as possible during the exam and encourage you to ask any questions you might have. They also send you off from every checkup with helpful print outs. Oh, and on your first visit they give you a gift bag, print outs, and prescriptions for things like ear drops, etc, so that if you can't get an appointment as soon as your child gets sick, you can still go out and get the medication that he/she needs until you can get to the office. Sorry I've typed you a book, but I really really do recommend Tender Care, especially Dr. Clan. He's a wonderful, caring doctor, as is the entire staff.

i dont live too far from there either, and i actually had my oldest son in that practice when we moved in 2005. but he got strep and when i called to take him in, they told me i'd have to wait a week (!) to bring him in because he was a new patient and they only see new patients one day a week. i took him to an immediate care center and had him looked at, because i wasnt about to wait a week. i took him out of there and now he and his brother go to all star pediatrics. i didnt like tendercare, but maybe you'll have better luck. i just didnt want you to run into the problem i did. if you want some info about all star, i'll be glad to tell you.
