p.s. I think the bride sounds like she's being ridiculous. If she HAS to have that dress, let her buy it!
my 3 year old is going to be a flower girl. I found a used flower girl dress that the bride ok'd (instead of a much more expensive one) but now it's unavailable. it's a davids bridal fg9309 in white. any suggestions on where to look for a used one besides craigslist? thanks!
should have specified...it HAS to be this particular dress. i found a a few other great dresses but only this one got approved (and that wasn't an easy task either). i did post on craigslist what i was looking for.

Have you tried E-Bay?
If you absolutely cannot find it, tell the Bride.
Or SHE should be giving you options.... it is her wedding.
I think you should look for one that is the same color (whether that is white or ivory) and as similar a style as you can find. Nobody will see it until the wedding day anyway, at which point if the bride notices (she won't), you can say, "Yup, that's the one you picked out!" I mean really, it's a flower girl dress. Your daughter will wear it once, and everyone will be focused on the bride anyway. No need to spend a crazy fortune. Just go your own route with it. As long as it's a similar silhouette to the one the bride approved, I don't see what the problem could possibly be. I actually did this when my oldest was a flower girl at age 4, and the bride never noticed. Just said how cute my daughter was, and that was that. =) I actually borrowed it from a friend, so it was free - vs the $200 the bride wanted me to spend.
We have almost that same dress but it's from Lida and had snap off bows that match the sash. It is on sale right now for about $90.00. You are probably going to have to go with a different dress that is very similar. She may not even notice as the day of the wedding comes closer. Brides are so focused on themselves on their day. As they should be.
I googled flower girl dress with pick ups and red sash and got lots of sites.

Ebay might have it. Can David's find a similar one with same cost? Little Angels has nice not too expensive dresses as well. Good luck
See if you have any nice resale shops near you. I bought my daughter a $75 dress for her first birthday for $15 at mine! I've already bought her a dress in a size 3 for her birthday because I fell in love with it and it was one of those really expensive dresses for cheap..she's only 19 months old now LOL I have bought her other high end brand name expensive things for really cheap as well (Gymboree brand new with tags outfits for $5 sometimes!)
You may not be able to find the exact dress but you might be able to find something just as nice at a good price. This is when stores start putting out their nice dresses for Easter so they may have a large selection.
You might also consider taking an ad out on Craigslist, posting a description of what you are looking for and a top dollar price. There are probably lots of beautiful flower girl dresses hanging in someone's closet that the owner would love to sell.
Also, nice department stores will carry lovely spring dresses now as well as children's consignment shops. Just depends upon how formal, or how white or colorful the dress needs to be.
my daughter and her cousin were flower girls this summer at my brother in law's wedding- I made the dresses. They were very easy to make- maybe(if you have any sewing experience) you could get a couple patterns and see what would be approved and make the dress. I really had a lot of fun making matching dresses for the girls and I think over all cost was about $30 per dress. I used costume silk(it's a lot cheaper and easier to clean and looks just as good) and trimmed it with light pink ribbon flowers. I got my stuff at Joann's and had a 1/2 off coupon- which helped.
have fun!

I would go shopping @ JC Penny's,Kohl's,Sears,Gordmans other places in your area they have beautiful dresses it may not say "flower girl dress" but I have seen lots of white dresses.I found mine at our local Mommy & ME a new & gently used high end resale shop for $30.00 that was 5 years ago but they still carry wedding/baptism items for a very reasonable price.
Target.com has special occasion dresses, I got my 3yr old daughter one for her baptism. It was cap sleeves, tulle and satin skirt and some embroidery on the bodice.
If the bride is being this weird about the dress then let her have hte task of finding it.
I have a dress very similar to that. It was fitted for my 3 year old. Its a pick up dress, but doesnt have the sash. Let me know if you want more info on it.
I would forgo any "flower girl" dresses and look at other stores for a communion or easter dress.... Pick a bunch and ask the bride if they are ok... then get what you can...
How soon is the wedding? There are gorgeous dresses from the Christmas season and I'm sure the Easter dresses will be out soon too. Are you looking for white or a particular color?
ebay and consignment shops. i even went to goodwill and found a super cute one (my daughter likes to dress up) for $3!!! don't be scared of the ickyness, look beyond it and find the bargins! and it was clean !
I'd type "david's bridal" and the dress number into google. You might turn up other sellers that way.
we got our older daughter's at penney's...it was a whole $22 NEW.
