Needing a Vacation with My Hubby

B&B are so fun my husband booked and it was wonderful. We had so much fun. You can get one close or go out of the way. I would do the Bed and Breakfast again.

I hear you on needing a vacation I have feel the same way latly. For our first anniversary my husband and I went to this place in WI called Delta lodge. It is a cabin in the middle of no where with a lake. Very cute and cozy no tv and no cell phone acess. It is inexpensive and open year round, however we went in the fall where the trees were beatiful and it wasn't too cold to go for a walk, so I'm not sure about this time of year . Good luck

i used to have a babysitter take my little one and set up a nice dinner, and go for a little walk, it is small but is a great time to reconnect.

ps. overnight sitters are best (just to avoid a time limit)

I was due with my second baby last August, so the April before he was born we drove to Kansas City and stayed on the Plaza for a weekend. There was so much to do there and so many great places to eat (which is what I was most interested in at the time, lol) Plus it was all within walking distance of our hotel and the weather was great.

Me and my husband are campers, there is nothing like going into a national forest where you have the wild life, the stars, and PEACE and QUIET. we camp alot it is not expencive and is wonderful you can rent a cabin, take a tent, or a camper. All the state parks have great accomidations ie.. Bathrooms, showers, water.
And there are always things you can do hicking, walking on trails, swimming. We love it so much that we usally go mabe 6-8 times a year. You can take the kids leave the kids. But it is a great way to get out of every day commotion.

I guess it depends upon what type of comforts you prefer. or season. We went out to the Shenandoah mountains in Virginia. Stayed along the Blue Ridge Parkway at Skyland resort. They have cabin like accomodations. We actually stayed in the ones that are on the national historic register. Bathroom running water. Those were just not "modern" looking as they historic register says you must keep the "look" the same. They do have attached living rooms with a fireplace that you can add on. then you go to the lodge dining room for meals. the ones we stayed in were close by so you could walk over. Beautiful views down into the valley. Also along the appalachian trail. you can go to www.nps.gov (that the National park service) and look under lodgings after you choose the park. choose the state first. Not all of the states have ones with lodge buildings, you have to look a little. There are several throughout the park chains. I think is was about 125/night. We stayed with my sister's family so we actually had 2 rooms that adjoined through a living room area. you're only about 2 hrs from DC (dulles airport area). 1 hr from Charlottesville. 1 1/2 hr from Gettysburg, PA

Not sure what happened I was typing and it all went away so I hope this isn't doubled...lol If you are in Montana there is a great bed and breakfast in Clancy MT called the Elk Horn bed and breakfast. It is very beautiful there, and very romantic. We went there for our honey moon in 2005 and would love to go back some day.

I'm not sure what area you are in or how far you want to travel but a few years ago, my DH and I stayed at a cabin in Wisconsin called Walnut Ridge. This is the website: http://www.wisconsinlogcabinlodging.com/
It was so beautiful and relaxing. No tv, no phone. There was a fireplace and hot tub right by the bed. A mini fridge with juice and items for breakfast. Not far from a little town with a few things to do. (we just went for dinner).
When we went there was only one cabin that they rent out, so we were the only ones there (besides the owners). It was very peaceful and so relaxing. It is a bed and breakfast, but the cabin is seperate from the main house, so you are pretty much completely alone.
Other things we have done is just take a drive a few hours away and pick up one of those hotel coupon books (you can find them a lot at rest stops/welcome centers) and see what kind of discount you can get using the coupons and just stopping at a hotel when you see s nice town/city to stop in. We did that last year for our anniversary (we went to Madison, WI).
Just a couple of ideas.

My husband is going to Iraq (not quite like baby #3, we had that suprise already) and really no time for the snow and cabin weekend so a friend of mine who works at a hotel gave us a discount on a room. the room had a fireplace, big tv and hot tub and king size bed. the kids came over to swim then we left them with my brother in law and his girlfriend. we went out to eat, hen ordered in pizza and went back to our house. when we got back they were gone.

I dont know what your money is like, so I will assume you want it inexpensive too. A couple of places that I love going to are Rapid City, SD-there are many tourist sites too see, the black hills are always beautiful, there are many sceneic places to drive, if you dont want to stop and get out, its soo peaceful and relaxing out there too and everything is relativly inexpensive to see. You can also go horse back riding, at least in the nicer weather, at the Hart Ranch out there. Its a beautiful ride. Another great spot is Wisconsin Dells. Again it has many places for tourists to visit, but it is also beautiful country to just take a drive around. And again the stuff to visit is pretty inexpensive.

My husband and I went a couple of years ago and plan on going again soon. Is Las Vegas!! It's so much fun and SO SO So Much to do there. It was a great time and there is always something to do all hours of the day/ night. We were there for 4 days and had a great time all 4 days.
