It seems like writing on Will/Estates/Inheritance overwhelming me. Is there any way to keep myself is simpify and quickest way of doing it? Even if it is cost-free!

What can I do next?

I can understand where you're coming from. It seems more daunting than it is. Once we made the call to our attorney (Ken Vanway), he walked us through everything. Keep in mind that a will is good, but it will only go into affect when you die. At our age, the likelihood of being incapacitated (i.e. having a bad injury or illness) is higher than dying, so it's important to also designate who you want as your medical power of attorney, financial power of attorney, and who will take care of your kids if you or your husband were incapable. Ken walked us through estate planning, death tax, kids inheritance, etc. It takes some time to think through all of that, but you'd just complete a few forms...and it's well worth it.

Our attorney, David Cruz, is doing a will special to build up his clientele. He will do a will for both you and your husband for $100. What a deal! He can be reached by email at ____@____.com.

K.,

Attorneys that specialize in Family Law have standard forms for these things -- you basically fill in the blanks. We were pretty daunted by this too, but found a wonderful attorney, who handled our wills, powers of attorney, etc. It wasn't cheap (about $800) but was worth it for the peace of mind.

Don't be embarrassed; it's like going to the doctor. They see stuff like this all the time. My husband and I were 40 years old with 2 kids when we finally got around to it.

It's possible that your local Legal Aid can point you in the direction of an attorney who can do this for low-cost.

My husband and I finally did ours after the birth of our 2nd child...We bought a state specific will online at USLegalforms.com for $20 (for both of us). It is very easy and VERY affordable. Dave Ramsey highly recommends this website unless you have a massive estate (more than $1M)..it includes proper verbiage for guardians of your children and disbursement of property. Good luck!!
