Please help if you can. I am a single mom trying to make it out here with a little house, no childsupport, and one beautifully large baby girl. She isn't even 10 months old yet and she is wearing 12 months-18 month clothes. The doctor told me today that she has outgrown her carseat because she is 23 lbs now. I just can't afford another car seat right now, and was hoping someone could either loan me one until I can afford to buy one, or sell me one for a good deal?? Is there anyone that can help me out? I can drive to pick it up, leave collateral, whatever you need. Thanks M.
thanks everyone

Have you tried a consigment store like Once Upon a Child or contact your local fire department, they may be able to tell you where you can get a carseat free or for a small charge. Also I know that our Parish collects car seats for different charities thru the Catholic Church, your parish office might have the names of a few charities that collect car seats. Try the Robbinsdale Womens Clinic. They might have some ways to get a car seat, you just have to do your research and know where to look.

I wish that I had a carseat for you- I gave mine away before moving to MN. Have you tried Craigslist.org? They can be a great source, AND a good way to meet nice folks. : )
Good Luck!
You might try craigslist.org. Its a site to sell your stuff locally, like an online garage sale.
Good luck

I'm not sure what kind of health insurance you have but if you have medical assistance or mn care on your daughter they will should give you a brand new free one.
I have bought several from the Unique Thrift Store the have locations in Columbia Heights, Burnsville, St.Paul etc. They are inexspensive and are great for temporary use.
I have also alot for sale on craigslist for really reasonable prices.
If you pick up the phone and dial 211 I believe it goes to First Call for Help or the United Way and just tell them your problem and they can find you a resource to get you a carseat and probaly a brand new one.
I have a Fisher Price seat that I used with both of my children. It was rated #1 by Consumer Reports when it was first purchased and is still in excellent shape. If you are willing to pick it up (I live in St. Louis Park), you can have it for free.

Just to let you know some insurance companys cover car seats forsure Medica, MN care and some others. If not try calling your local CAP agency they probably can help.
Good Luck
Hello- I don't have a car seat for you, but since all new car seats are supposed to be safe there are some very inexpensive ones out there. At Target I saw one for $40. I don't know what your budget is, but that might be an option.
M. I have an extra car seat if you would like it.my email is ____@____.com I live in chaska.
