Need to Know a Kind of Cookies Without Peanut Base Products

This might not help because it's really for cupcakes or cake, but my daughter had a boy in her class last year who was severely allergic to peanuts, and I remember sending in "Funfetti" cupcakes. I just assumed the boy with allergies would bring his own treat like he always did, but when I ran into the mom she said her son was so excited about the treat my daughter brought in because he was able to eat it. If someone out there with a child with allergies would like to correct, PLEASE do! But I think that funfetti stuff is OK.

Oreos and Chips Ahoy in the blue wrapper. But you need to read them every time you buy to make sure nothing has changed and make sure they are not processed on equipment with nuts. Teddy Grahams are usually good, too.

Most moms with children with peanut and other nut allergies, like myself, prefer store-bought items to homemade things because "if you can't read it, you shouldn't eat it." The research shows that too many mistakes happen with well-meaning people.

I've been told that Oreos are a safe-bet. At my son's previous preschool, the director had a peanut allergy, and I am almost positive she said that Oreos are always a good choice. I would check the package. Also, the Betty Crocker cookie mix (in the pouch, just add some ingredients) could work. I've read the packaging several times, and it does not mention that the mix is made on the same machines as peanut products. I don't know if this has changed, though, so double check.

My son is severely allergic to peanuts and he can have Oreo and Chip's Ahoy. If you are going to use a mix, then the Pillsbury ones that are in the tube or the ones with the shapes inside are fine. The ones that are Ready Made from Pillsbury are not. If you are going to make them from scratch you have to use Hershey's chips and not Nestle. Honestly with my son I sent a list of approved foods to the parents in the class so that parents know what is okay. I also prefer store bought over homemade because of the chance of cross contamination. I would ask that mom for a list of approved stuff.

I don' tknow where you are but ukrops super market bakery is all peanut free unless noted on the title....peanut stuff made in a different bakery....all cakes and cookies are peanut free unless obviously noted..

What about chocolate chip cookies? If you make the cookies, there are a ton of options and you can use substitutes if necessary - soy based products, etc....but I don't see how you haven't found any without peanuts - there are a ton - sugar cookies, chocolate chip, oatmeal, etc....I don't think any of those have peanut stuff in them??

Why don't you just bake some chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin cookies to take in? Homemade is always better and that way you know for sure what's in them.

Rice krispy treats, oreos, homemade cookies, sugar cookies, chips ahoy, fig newtons. Or you could go to your grocery store and ask someone who works in the bakery. Whatever you buy, be sure to check the label carefully because lots of cookies are made in facilities where peanuts are manufactured.

Also, if this is a regular thing, the parent of the person who has the allergy could send in peanut-free cookies for the allergic child to eat. This might take the pressure off of the other parents, and give the parents peace of mind. (Unless her allergy is so severe that he/she can't even be in the room with peanut products.)

You could alway make cookies. A simple homemake sugar would fit the bill of no peanut products. Allergic to peanut butter also means allergic to all peanut item. I have 2 grandkids that are allergie to milk and milk by-products. And we do alot of baking and cooking so they can have (just about) the same as the other kids. As for store bought cookie are have to really really read carefully the labels. I found out in the long range that it is quicker just to make foods that my grandkids can eat.

if you want a mix, you can go to the health food stores, MOM(My Organic Market) has the best prices and quality, they have a section of allergy free baking mixes. You can find some of these @ Whole Foods as well.

I have a niece that is allergic to nuts so typically what I do is I go to the bakery portion of the market and buy the cookies that are sold there. You still have to read the ingredients really carefully and don't get anything with chocolate in it but they are usually the cheapest and safest thing that I can suggest.
