My DD is turning 3 in early October. I am not planning on a birthday party. I wanted to make it more intimate and special for her. I was thinking maybe Keylime Cove but been there already. Can anyone offer any other suggestions of places that may be fun or special for a 3 year old? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Not sure how far you want to drive but we took my girls to Mud Island River Park in Memphis, TN when they were 3 and 6. My younger one STILL asks to go back and she just turned 10. What it is is a scale model of the Mississippi river, with water running through it. It's topographically correct so they can walk through and see how it flows, where it's deeper or shallower, float things down the "river", etc. Along the way are really neat signs that explain historical events that changed the river, like earthquakes and dredging to make it deeper.
It ends at Lake Ponchatrain, and then that flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Well, models of those of course. It was a very fun adventure. I honestly am going to figure out a way to go back there on another trip.

What about the Bentgson's Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen? There are carnival rides, a giant slide, a train ride, hay rides, little animals, pig races, and crappy food. (Seriously, don't waste your money and calories on that food.)

Or apple picking at Kuiper's Family Farm? Morton Arboretum? Lots of great photo ops there. Brookfield Zoo? You have probably taken your daughter to a lot of those places I just mentioned, but at three years old, she'll probably be happy with just about anything :-) Good luck, and happy birthday to your sweet little girl!

My oldest daughter will be 3 in October also!! We chose not to do a party either. She loves the Disney show The Imagination Movers and they just happen to be having a concert nearby us the week before her b-day. We wanted to do something for her that we knew she'd be very excited about. I don't live by you so I'm sorry I couldn't suggest anyplaces near but if you just make it personal and exciting she will love it.
