I used Cyclesa. I was didn't get any side effects from it. In fact, I plant to go back on it after I have my second baby in January. I would research different bc's and talk to your dr about them.
Right now I have the Mirena in (Have had for almost 3 years) and it's been good, but lately I have been having panic attacks, very emotional and this loosing weight thing isn't going to well. Im guessing the hormones are messing with my body. So what bc are you using and don't have much side effects?
Im thinking of doing something new.

I too have the mirena. I too have had mine in for alsomt 3 years. I have LOVED it untill now. I too ahve having issues with my hormones, wightloss and even a little hair loss. I am talking with my OBGYN about getting my tubs tied because I am done having babys.
However there are lots of other opptions for BC. The pill of cousre. There is also the patch and the shot. However both of these have been what is call "Black boxed". Meening that after a whill they are not safe to use because of incressed risks of canser or cloting.
If I was you I would call you OBGYN and have a sit down with him/her. Let them know your worries and that you feel you would like to try another form of BC. I am sure they can find jsut the right thing to put you on!!!
Blessings

If you like the IUD, try the other one, the one without hormones. I use it and it's works just fine (but I can't remember the name of it).
I use Nortrel which I like. I don't really like having to remember to take it every day though. I haven't had any problems with it. I have been on ortho-tricyclen and ortho-tricyclen low and these weren't nearly as good. I had a lot more side effects.
You should really talk to your doctor about your options since everyone is different. I've had Mirena for just over one year and love it. If you know you are done having children for sure, you could also think about NovaSure endometrial ablation. There are also non-steriod IUD's out there, like the copper version. There are so many options. You can do a search online and read about some and then talk to your doctor for more specific information that relates to your situation. Good luck!
I use a natural method called Creighton/NaPro Technology. I don't do artificial stuff for various reasons, including some medical issues. Going "green" with your birth control can be very freeing. :-) I recommend at least looking into it! Here's their website:

I have not had any issues with the Mirena, however I know many who have I think it is hit an miss, but rounding year 4 I think my hormones are getting out of what due to it as well ... I was just thinking of getting the Essure, because I am done having kids. However, if I were looking for another birth control aside from the IUD I would look into the seasonique personally (have not done so yet) but that would be my starting point.
