Need Serious Fertility Advice, Could Use Herbal Remedies for Better Eggs

a bit of background: I had an IVF in 2005, and have my beautiful son as a result. Initially I was carrying 2, but only one embryo showed a heartbeat. As a result of the same IVF. I had 4 frozen embryos. I have undergone 2 frozen embryos since (using all 4) and was pregnant both times, but the pregnancy didn't go far. With the first one, I was about 5 weeks and the 2nd it was more like 3 weeks when I lost the pregnancy. My doctor thought the issue could be with my eggs, so in deciding to have another full IVF we agreed to be more aggressive and perhaps transfer more than 2 embryos back in for a higher chance. Well, I just had another full IVF, unfortunately out of 15 eggs only one made it to transfer date and I didn't even become pregnant this time around. I spoke to my dr., who believes this is all related to the health of my eggs, and he believes this to be the reason for the frozen embryos not maturing into a full pregnancy, and the same for the results of this IVF cycle. He suggested not to repeat another IVF cycle, as I will most likely not have better results. He has suggested donor eggs, which is not an option I am willing to consider. My question is, are there any remedies or anything I can do prior to an IVF cycle to gain healthier eggs? I really feel incomplete, and worry about my son not having siblings. I really would love to have another biological child. I started this whole process at 34, so why were my eggs not in good shape at 34? I am 38 now, and seems I have the eggs of someone much older. I never expected to have this problem. Please, I am only looking for advice about ways to make my own eggs healthier. I really would love to have my own, before considering adoption. Thank you

My sister-in-law has had her first unsuccessful round of IVF. However, in addition to better nutrition, her embrologist recommended acupuncture which she loves. Good luck.

There may be ways to make your body healthier, and your uterus stronger. There is no way to make your eggs healthier. They are 38 years old. Your body doesn't make new ones. The ones you have are the ones you were born with. That is why women go through menapause, because our body runs out of eggs, and the uterus no longer needs to prepare for a baby. Is it possible to go to another Fertility specialist in your area? I wish you much success in having things work out the way you want.

I would get on a good general nutrition plan and give you body everything to do it's best - please be cautious of experimenting with herbals - there are no regulations in the industry and if you are not dealing with a reputable company with decades of documented history - you don't know what you are getting.

There is a presentation entitled "Got Health - or Just Chasing After It" at www.nosickvisits.com which will give you some good general information.

If you want some specific building Healty Baby info, please let me know.

So sorry to hear about what you've been going through - hang in there!

Consider switching doctors. Some are simply more agressive than others and if you are willing to go that route, it could be worth a consult. I'd start by looking in the City and getting some referrals. Accupunture, too, if you can afford it might be of great help!
