I am due with my 2nd in a couple of weeks and this baby decided not to cooperate at the ultrasound, so I have no idea if it is a boy or a girl. Being the planner that I am this is driving me NUTS!!! I have picked up some gender neutral stuff but am having issues when it comes to bedding. I found a really cure junlge animal set made by tiddliwinks Jungle collection bedding (http://www.target.com/Tiddliwinks-Jungle-Collection/dp/B0...) that matches the room really well (it's really more green than the pictures show). My question is - does it look too boyish or do you think it is OK for a girl as well?
The bedding you like sounds cute and could go either way. I just want to say, though, that maybe the baby won't sleep in the bed for a little while anyway, so you could wait until it is born. I know my little kiddos usually sleep with me for a while, if not in my bed, in a bassinet in my room. Just a thought.

I would say it would be fine for a little girl or a boy. I have a 22 month old daughter. When she was born her crib her bedding was also a neutral for a boy or girl. Have you ever seen froggytales? It's mostly green with some yellow. We knew we were having a girl, but I also wanted something that would work for a boy as well.

I think any animal theme is generally gender neutral. I also went with the zoo animals and currently have a son. If we have another one in the future, the primary colors/animals will work for a girl as well. IN your set, there is a bit more blue. Maybe try to find one with more primary colors.

I think it is great foe either a boy or a girl!!! It's cute! We didn't know with our first one. Then on my due date when I was at the doctors office we did another ultrasound and she said "Well if you want to know I can tell you now." But I was contracting and effaced and going to the hospital so I figured why ruin the surprise now?!? So enjoy not knowing. I know that it is hard but really it will be great after you give birth and they say, "It's a boy" or "It's a girl." Really how many BIG true surprises do we have in life???

OK... my question to you is if you knew it was a girl (or a boy for that matter) is this the bedding you would pick? If not then pick one for each and then wait and buy it a few days or weeks afterward. I don't know about you, but my newborns never slept in their own room right away anyway. Then you can have the entire bedding you really want either way. Good luck with the baby :o)

You've gotten a lot of good opinions. I agree that it would work for either a boy or a girl. If this is the set that you go with and you have a girl, just jazz it up with some pink/purple accents or vice versa for a boy. Or buy the sets that you would want for each and then return whichever you don't have! Or you can just look for something else...I like the Babylicious lines or the Sweet Potato lines from Target as well. They're more modern and more color themed than animals/sports/princess/etc. That's the way I was leaning with my 3rd. He's a boy, but I would have stayed that route!
Congrats on the new little one!

I think that is very cute. I think it would work great for a boy or a girl. You add a few pink blankets with it if it's a girl and it will look great. I say go with it. We had no idea what our second child was either so I did a pretty nuetral color pattern and we had a litte girl and it was amazing how much more girl looking it looked with just a pink blanket. Good luck and congrats.

I think it looks fine. I am having the same delima because I actually do not believe that we are having a boy and we bought dinasour bedding. We kept the bedding in the bag until the baby arrives. For as much planning ahead as I like to do, I would hate to have a girl and have dinasour bedding so we are going to wait to open it. You could always pick out what you like for both genders, buy it and return one when you find out what the sex it. That is what I am thinking about doing. That way you will be ready to go. Just have your hubby set up whatever bedding you want in the crib before the baby comes home.
Does that help??

Hi J.! I think it looks great! I actually think that I have a bumper pad that is very similar to this collection. I do have a boy and I knew he'd be a boy, but I opted for this set to avoid gender stereotypes and I felt that this one didn't say "boy" or "girl", but rather "child". Target also has some cute jungle animal themed decals that you can put on the walls, too.(They're also removable.) Congratulations!

I think the jungle set is really cute and I don't think it looks boyish at all. The other thing you can do is just get white sheets for now and wait until he/she is born before you buy anything else. They only use a receiving blanket in the beginning anyway so it's really no rush. Congrats and good luck.

Hi J.,
Congratulations on your new little munchkin coming! :)
I think it's an adorable design. I think it's a bit more boyish than girlish, but you could do it for a girl too. Like the last suggestion, you could wait and see what you have first. Our babies never slept in their crib for the first couple of months anyway, they were always in our room in a pack and play.
It'll go well no matter what you decide!

Hi J.!
I think it is perfect either way! My little girl has a jungle theme. It's very much like the one you posted (also from target, but discontinued), but it has a greenish-blue base. I just accented the girlier colors around the room (aqua and purple). You can do the same if you have a girl, or accent the boy colors/themes if you have a boy!

Hey J. I know this isn't exactly your question but I would go to fetal foto they garantee a sex verification if the baby is not in the right possision they will have you come back later or just have you roll over and wait for a little while. I have done it with both of my children, it is a little expencive although the memories are so worth it! :0)

I thought the bedding set was cute, for either sex, but I would personally wait 2 weeks, then order one for the boy or girl. Have one picked out for each, then all you have to do is order it. That's what I have done for the babies that didn't cooperate with the ultrasound either! Good luck with your new little one.

Hi! Congrats on the soon to be baby! I can understand how hard it is to find neutral bedding and wanted to let you know we have the Tiddliwinks bedding from Target. Now, our baby is a boy. So for our opinion it's boyish but I'm sure it would be fine for a girl. My suggestion, just wait until the baby is born since it won't be in it's room for a while (assuming you will be using a bassinet). That can be your first outing!
Good luck to you!

We don't like to find out the gender of our babies, so we do the neutral color scheme as well. I found the best thing to do is pick colors such as teal, light green, brown, and yellow, that go well with other colors once you know what it is. Purple goes great with teal. Pink goes well with green and brown and yellow. If it ends up being a girl, just throw a few pink/purple pillows/blankets around the room to girl it up a bit. If it's a boy, adding blue or more green will make it a little more boyish. Good luck!

I think it's very neutral.
You know, I didn't know the sex of my second child, by choice, and our first was a boy. I was in total shock when the doctor announced a girl because I was SO SURE it was a boy. I didn't have any girl things and I was so busy taking care of two kids, that I never went out and bought her girl bedding, so she used her brother's "sports" crib bumper for a few months. No one saw and it wasn't a big deal to me. But now that she's older, it's girl stuff all the way!
Congrats on the new addition and it will sure make things fun not knowing the sex. If we were to have more kids, I'd opt to never find out again. I loved being surprised! And I'm a "planner," too!

Congrats on your expanding family! Ok I am assuming your are like me and want to have everything perfect before the baby arrives! After the baby is here it is hard to go shopping since you are so tired at first. I think that the Tiddliwinks is alittle more boyish.I would suggest the Babylicious at target, then if it is a boy get a few dragonflys or frogs for the walls and if it is a girl get a few butterflys or flowers. This is what my friend did when the baby was born her father went to there house and hung up the appropriate theme before she arrived. It was very important to have the room complete for photo opts. Either way good luck and I my your baby be happy and healthy!

Ok, I'm gunna be the one to go against everything all other moms have said, so please take it with a grain of salt, but I'll be honest.
I think its adorable and very neutral if neutral is what you would want if you have a girl. I think if I didn’t know the gender of my child, naturally I'd think the smart thing is go neutral, and If I had a boy, Neutral would do great in him, but if I had a girl and the neutral made her look anything less than a girl, I wouldn’t put her in it, it would sit with the tags on and go to somebody who was probably having a boy.
I personally would wait, or get 2 different sets, one if its a boy, one if its a girl and take the other one back after you have your baby. Neutral confuses people on the gender of your baby, (IMO) and usually makes a girl look more like a boy.
So there is my opinion, but like I say, it is adorable, totally cute, I wouldn’t want it for my self if I had a girl, but if your ok with neutral on a girl, Go-for-it.
Congratulations by the way.
and Good Luck :)

Hi J.!
Just a response to your question about the bedding, my sister is due with her first baby (a girl) in 2 1/2 weeks and that is the exact same bedding she chose for the nursery, so I am very familar. Her reason for choosing it was that she wants another child rather soon after having her first (due to her age) and she wanted bedding to be gender neutral...and I think it totally is, not to mention that it is very cute as well :) Congratulations and good luck!!

I think the bedding is cute... however, newborns really shouldn't be sleeping in a crib that has bumpers or quilts, so why not just get some sheets? This is a safety issue, and they should address it at the hospital with you - it's part of the SIDS reduction program, like back to sleep. I just completed a nursing clinical on a maternity floor, and everytime we did discharge teaching, we told the moms not to have anything in the crib with the baby, especially not fluffy things like quilts and bumper pads. So skip all the bells and whistles and just get some sheets and coordinating items. Just a thought.

I think that looks finw for either girl or boy. In the early months the only ones who really care are the parents. the kids are to little to care. I think that is a nice set It will probably last through this baby and for the next one. If you think you would approve of it eve for another child then I'd say it's worth it.

Also, I had a blue care bear set for my daughter, so color doesn't really matter as long as it matches the room and you like it. :) Good luck with your delivery. :)
